Do you think if a team doctor advised the Rockets, "Hey this guy is way too big, already has prior injuries in his feet, and will probably have a shortened career due to this injury. You should probably think twice about committing too much to him," that the Rockets would agree and get rid of Yao or would they probably get rid of the doctor?
i can't imagine yao and tmac not being injury prone on another team.... yes, we and other teams have had injuries, but is there any other athlete in houston who keeps getting injured like these two? Injuries are part of sports, but if you have two guys who keep going down, something tells me it's not the doc....
Im sorry, I didnt clearify that, but give the right advice in terms of injury. They told him to sit 8 weeks or so, and he'd be ready to go! As Lee Corso says, not so fast my friend. Now we're talking about season ending. And not just in this scenario but if it has happened 3 times before, as others have mentioned, dont you think they would look and monitor him a bit more closely while he is injured and make sure he is on track?
phoenix's doctors aren't even the ones people are raving about, it's their trainers....not the same thing....and yet they still brought amare back too soon from his first knee surgery and he had sit out again..
Why has this not been posted about Yao? He might miss the whole season http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=aw-yaorockets062909&prov=yhoo&type=lgns "It sounds like he’s missing most of next season, if not the entire 82 games"
I do not have 100 % trust in Dr. Clanton, just going by his public statements and appearances I have seen. How can it be that they send Yao to China and apparently have not checked ONCE between the end of the season for him and his return to Houston now? And now they are all surprised? Dr. Clanton has previously had to correct diagnoses several times... I do not have 100 % trust in the guy. From his public statements, he seems very vain, or is this a misconception? Who authorized the guy to make this gloomy public statement about Yao? Morey is saying he will not comment "until we have all the facts". Why is the team physician going public like that then? Does he want a grand exit and public attention? I notice he is leaving the Houston sports teams in July. http://www.myfoxhouston.com/dpp/sports/090430_clanton_leaving_sports_teams
What's the deal with the Rockets and career ending knee surgeries and quadricep tendon injuries? Career ending injuries: 99-00 Quadriceps Tendon 05-06 Microfracture Knee Surgery 07-08 Quadriceps Tendon 08-09 Quadriceps Tendon 08-09 Broken Foot He's next: 08-09 Microfracture Knee Surgery
I saw this in the Bucher story on ESPN and thought similar to your post: http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/columns/story?columnist=bucher_ric&page=yaoming-090629
What injuries have the Stros and Texans had besides Duante's knee, Spencers leg(blame Dayne) and Schuab being a bit soft?
I have even less trust in him. Wasn't he the one who claimed the hairline fracture will heal in a couple months and made it sounded like nothing to worry about?
He also made the claim after putting a screw in Yao's foot last time that the same place will never fracture again. Although I can't find proof, it sounds like Yao's fracture is at probably the same place in his left foot.
