Im happy with this 7th spot. Id rather have that instead of not even having a spot at all which was the case a month ago
Western Conference is so crowded... i am wondering if Houston Rockets will move to the east next season
hey OP, just remember that the play offs are a few months off. even if we are playing at a high level right now, the only thing that matters is the way we play when it counts.
I thought it was more frustating doing all that losing after 6-1 start. this is the fun part or should I say the bittersweet part since losing Yao in the midst of all this winning! We would be atop the Western Confrence right now with a sizable lead if we would have continued to play like we did early on in the first month or two weeks of the season!
even though we are close to being out of the playoffs, still this is the greatest opportunity for the Rockets to get the no. 1 seed in a long time.
The Rockets will never move to the East. As much as the East stinks, I don't want the Rockets to move to the East either. Houston, Dallas, and San Antonio are all in the same state. It doesn't make sense why a Texas team would go to the East. In my opinion, all three Texas teams should always be in the same conference (and division). If a change was to occur at this moment, Memphis, New Orleans, or Minnesota are the most likely ones to go to the East because of their geographic location.
a few losses and we are out of the playoffs. That's the concerning thing. How will this team respond when the schedule gets hard, like the beginning of the season? The past month the rockets have padded the record by beating lower quality opponents (not all wins, but most). What happens when the LAL's, UTH's, BOS's, Mavs come to town. In the playoffs - every opponent has a winning record. We won't see Mia, Char, Mil, Chi, etc. We have a false sence of security I think. I'm concerned and worried about that point.
I believe we beat the current number 3 seed and at the time number 1 seed Hornets by 20 points, oh yah and it was on their home court where they had won 9 straight before we came in.
I like it too. Wilbon just said it would be an "inspiration" if Rockets even make playoffs. I'm getting sick the so called professionals.
To the contrary, I think a lot of fans have a false sense of insecurity. Because of our past, the media will continue to be negative towards our team. Why does everyone act like the rest of the west have easy schedules and ours is the only hard one? Sure, we may lose some games, but why do we act like the other teams wont? If the Mavericks lose today, and we win, viola, we're #5. Its that easy, and is likely to occur. Check out the remaining schedules of all the western teams in the playoff race. We're not the only team with tough games left. I like our chances.
Dallas lost today against the Lakers....We are 6th and if we beat denver then we will be fifth ahead of the Suns
Yup, we have the tiebreaker against the Suns (tied season series, but better conference record). And regardless of seeding, we'd have the 4th best record in the West, so that means HOME COURT ADVANTAGE! Come on, at least get there for one game.
