Over the course of the season, people have shifted between arguing whether Francis should be playing to now whether T-Mac is a bum. Who will be up next for the GARM to pass judgment on?

why cant fans just be happy with a win. The team is improving in front of our eyes. Players are stepping up. We don't need Tmac to score 40 points. The Rockets just need to build on what they are doing now. Tmac is Tmac. He's gonna contribute one way or another. Just stay healthy, keep on improving, and Rockets will be there come post season.

    let me get this straigt

t-mac is hustling on d, getting steals, getting his t-mates involved, taking less shots, only asserting himself late in the game or 2nd half - and not dominating the ball

    and people are still complaining????????

you can never get this straight as long as his shooting selections suck

I really hope TMac is saving himself for the playoffs because in comparing him to a Monte Ellis or a Stephen Jackson tonight in their driving ability, TMac looks like he has lost all explosiveness in both his first step and at the rim. We may think that he isn't taking it to the basket because he is lazy or has bad shot selection, but it may really be that he just can't. I hope that this is not the case.

I don't think he is the kind of player who is saving himself for the playoffs. He has admitted he can't play like he did at the beginning of season because of his injury.
The only way he can come close to that is if he starts feeling better physically.

I'm not. I thought he played just great basketball the last two games. Adelman singled him out for praise after the Hawks game. He basically did whatever he wanted to the Hawks and his teammates scored tons of easy baskets. Maybe he can transform himself into the Rockets' version of Magic?

If I could offer a teensy bit of criticism it would be that he needs to exercise better judgement in shot selection.

I saw the game tonight, and IMHO he is saving himself...In the 4th quarter he blocked a pair of shot and he jumped very high, so the knees aren't bothering him too much. I also notice that now he is more vocal with is teammates and I think that is very positive!

T-Mac proved that he can score when ever he wants, these games with all team scoring are winning games, Tracy McGrady doesn't need to step up, he's fine.

You just don't understand, if team is winning, real experienced player really doesn't care how many points he scored if he played with his team and with his heart.

People just don't understand Tmac. He will play smooth and under control for the first 40 minutes of a game. If it so happens, we do not have a commanding lead by that time then he will just take over the game or find a way to get easy baskets for everyone. There are times where his lack of urgency can get us in trouble but for the most part he can hit a switch at any time he wants. Let's say a rookie blocks his shot. Next time down you know Tmac is going to make him look silly one way or another. In the playoffs, it is a different story because from the very first minute of the playoffs he is intense as ever and shows more emotion in the playoffs than he does all year.

Many of you new to this board and the NBA may not understand this. It is a LONG season and several teams have "coasted" to the playoffs before. The Spurs, namely Tim Duncan, do not do the things that he does in the regular season like he does in the playoffs. Shaq in his Lakers days and even Miami is a different player in the regular season and then hits a switch when the playoffs start. You can keep saying how "he's lost his explosiveness" but we have been saying that for two years now and I am not buying it. When we make the playoffs and Tmac still looks like he is not explosive then I will start to worry but this can turn it on and off at a drop of a hat which scares the living sheeit out of some of you.

T-Mac took 15 shots last night. From what I saw(only saw the 2nd half and missed his 1 for 6 first half performance, he didnt take ANY "bad" shots. Well, actually he did take a dumb 3 but that was after the whistle blew. From listening more or less to the first half(up north of Houston the 610 signal fades bad after dark) Gene said he was struggling from the floor. I did hear him take a 3 point shot that he shouldnt have taken, but Gene said that it appeared that T-Mac wanted Rafer to shoot the 3 first(Rockets maybe made one pass to many on that play). I only heard him take 2 3 point shots,(the above mentioned one) and one that seemed to be in the flow of the offense(catch n shoot).

Going by the box score, this leaves 2 more 3 pointers that could have been bad shots but I didnt hear/see them. So lets just say that they were bad 3s(and not plays where his man goes under the pick or a catch n shoot - both of those are generally considered good shots because they are uncontested) that gives him 3 bad shots out of 15.

You guys are whining about maybe 3 shots??

It's just one of those things when people who used to never have a probelm with Tmac's shot selection start to join in the bandwagon because someone mentioned it. Then it catches on fire and everyone starts following the bandwagon arguement because it's the cool thing to do.

The number of dunks is not a sign of how good a player is! As a matter of factor, great players usually dunk less and less when they become better and more mature, and they rely more on smarts and experience than their athleticism to beat the opponents.

Dunks are for the rookies and casual fans, real basketball people could care less about that.

I would agree with the dunk factor if T-mac didnt dunk it on fast breaks where he has an open lane. That would indicate a problem somewhere.
