Interested in going (even if the Texans don't make it). Doesn't need to be a super awesome seat, but it need not be a nosebleed. I know it'll cost a lot.
You have to enter the SB lottery if you're hoping to get a ticket before they're thousands of dollars.
Yes, really. https://digitalcare.nfl.com/hc/en-us/articles/215348977-Super-Bowl-Ticket-Lottery They don't just release them to the open public.
Yeah, I don't think they just sell tickets to you and me. Of the 70,000, how many actually goes on sale in that lottery? I'd say 5,000-ish.
The NFL draws 500 lottery winners, and each are given the chance to buy 2 tickets. The deadline for entering was June 1.
damn, i didn't even think about entering in the lottery. I'd have a hard time not going if the texans did make it...you can't pass up something like that.
I was trying to get a hotel room for me and the Mrs. so I could rub elbows with the stars. NOT HAPPENING... everything is either booked or insanely expensive.
Who Gets What? 74.8 percent of tickets are split among the NFL teams 5 percent to the host city's team 17.5 percent to the AFC champion 17.5 percent to the NFC champion 34.8 percent are distributed among the remaining teams (1.2 percent per team) 25.2 percent of all Super Bowl tickets are controlled by the NFL and distributed among companies, sponsors, media and networks
Pretty much, the rich get the seats and then rape the public on the secondary market. It's not a game for the middle class.
My wife and I have been considering listing our house that week, but I can't get over the idea that a total stranger will be sleeping (or possibly more than that) in my bed.
