If i could imitate just 1% of jordan's game, I'd have a job in the NBA right now. I'd take ryan bowen's roster spot :)

Another thing that amazaes me about the Dream Shake is he did it most of the time without traveling. I've tried to do it in a regular pick up game and it is not easy to do.

I imitated Jordan once. I drank some Gatorade while eating McDonald's and wearing Hanes and Nikes and I watched Looney Tunes on the WB with Rayovacs in my remote control.

So the fact that you saw MJ doing something a week ago in a game means Kobe ripped it off of him? The mere fact that you just saw it last week means that it wasn't an "always" thing for jordan. And shoot, how do you know you won't see Gervin doing it if you watched a random video of his? Not a fan of that one, you're just trying to fan your argument with a single moment in time.

A *signature* to point at someone and glare at them when you're pissed at them? I bet half a million people do that on the streets. You do realize there are "normal" reactions some people have.

When Kobe was screaming and beating his chest after hitting the game winner...that wasn't like Jordan. You didn't wanna go try and figure that out? Where he stole it from MJ? How about when he got up after the hard foul and was "brushing himself off" and shaking his head? Another MJ?

this is just random stuff you're pulling up. Maybe he gained a couple of motions from watching Jordan, but so did 50 million other people. It just becomes part of you quickly. It's not like it's conscious

Give it up Kobe lovers, he is "the clone". Notice how clones are never quite as good as the original.

Funny i don't recall the most dominant player in the league winning without Kobe. Jesus, this is getting rediculous--you'd think Kobe was just some 12pp scorer or something. He downright carried the Lakers down the stretch as 'the most dominant player in the league' was a total liability on offense.

Give Kobe a big man who can rebound and create his own offense and i think he'd do OK. It's funny how Shaq has been with an excellent wing player throughout his entire career (penny, Kobe, Wade) yet they get absolutely no credit for anything their respective teams have acheived.

Funny how Shaq couldn't lead a rediculously talented team that included Nick Van Exel, Eddie Jones (all-stars by the way) at his peak, a young but Productive Kobe off the bench and a solid Elded Campbell to the finals. Nope, it took Kobe raising his game to the next level and the greatest coach in NBA history for that to happen.

Only one man has taken a team of role players to the promise land, and it wasn't Shaq or Jordan.

And don't even get me started on MJ without Pippen.

Big men win championships, with the exception of Jordan. Thats why Jordans the greatest. There was excellent big men on every championship team in history, except for the jordan years.
Championships/Playoffs follow Shaq wherever he goes. The best Center Ive ever seen compete with Dream was Shaquille. Dream was greater ,but Shaq was close.

Since when is patterning your game after the greatest player ever considered a bad thing? Is it any different if a CEO of a comany patterns himself after another successful CEO? The Kobe haters have no boundaries.

True, however the only big man The Bulls ever really had success against was Ewing--and Ewing just didn't have enough to take his team to the next level from a defensive standpoint. When the Bulls were presented with a dominant big man, like Shaq--they could not cope. You will also note the Bulls struggles against our Rockets, they simply had no answer.

Having the greatest rebounder in NBA history also helps make up for the lack of a dominant center.

Why is it bad to pattern your game after the best ever?

Every player at one point in their life has wanted to be MJ. The only thing that separates Kobe is he is the closest one to play at that level.

I have never understood the hate that surrounds Kobe...

    People mistake confidence for cockiness.

IMO... He is by far the best player in the NBA.

    * shakes his head while looking back at the opponent facing the basket

    * trots back just like prostitute-hiring twice-quitter MJ

Kobe rapes, MJ gambled... ok, well, not everything the same...

You don't understand. Jordan did that a lot. I was just giving a specific example.

You have to be kidding if you don't think Kobe is trying to be just like MJ when he does this. It's not that they both point and glare, it's the exact replication of it.

So, let me get this straight. Where did I say that he doesn't do things that are NOT like MJ? That's right, I didn't. Since you asked, though, he was doing the fist pump before Vujacic ran up to bear hug him.

The whole point of what I'm saying is that it IS conscious. This stuff isn't random and it's not normal around the league. I couldn't make this comparison with any other player in the league.

Don't get me wrong. There is nothing wrong with emulating your game after a great player, but we're talking about mannerisms, personality, celebrations, etc.

Personally, I think that's a little bit overboard. It's just my opinion though, so I don't see why everyone has to get sand in their vagina about me making this thread. You guys act like you ARE Kobe and I just made a thread about how much you suck. The guy is the best player in the league, but I believe he has issues. If you don't agree, get over it.
