Wake me up when the front office finally decides what they're going to do with all of these assets....I mean players.
Mchale high -fiving Thabeet has to be the lowest feeling of those pics Tinman.... Now I feel empty inside
As for as the Rockets are concerned, I have learned the value of lowered expectations. Comparing the Rocket's season to the Texan's season, there is no comparison. The Texans fueled a buzz. The Rockets still seem like they are a 9th place finisher. Each game stands on its own; I watch them play and try to keep interested. Yawn. No sizzle, whatsoever.
Dvr the games...watch something else instead...think to myself, watch game or go to sleep?...delete from dvr. i have lost all interest in this season mainly bc its just like every other damn season except this season they dont have a "waiting for yao to come back" They need to get rid of the 09ers, martin and scola for picks, i mean jesus, START OVER or trade half the team for a star, either way quit wasting time getting meaningless wins here and there and messing up our draft position. This is an inferior product. In all my years of rockets misery ive never said or admitted these words but this year...the rockets suck. Get it together. INB4 bandwagon fan...FOH with that. Thats how i feel.
It's difficult to say because we're running with a winning record, but we are not at the top and in contention for the title. I like how our deep team makes us competitors, but again I want a championship. Without the chuckwagon, this season has lost a bit of it's spark. btw, am i the only one that saw the cute brunette in the first pic b4 anything else? lol
The Rockets are playing great team basketball. They are 6th in the Western Conference and have shown that they can beat anybody in the West, especially at home. We have a deep team and McHale is great at finding the hot hand. What is there not to love about this team?
It's not even about wins and losses for me. I have no problem supporting a team with a young nucleolus and a long-term plan for the future win 20 games while taking their lumps and learning how to play together. But that's not what we have. We have a bunch of players just biding their time here until the front office figures out what to do with them next. How are we supposed to support them when we know most of them aren't even going to be here 2 years from now? And McHale...does anyone really think he's here for the long term? He's just here to babysit until the front office finally figures out what kind of team we're going to eventually have.
How do I feel? I feel better, so I voted for "great year". I'm a long time Rockets fan and try to stay positive, tempered with a bit of reality. This team's goal was making the playoffs and it looks like it is going to happen. I hope they win it all, but that's a long shot at best. The real reason I feel better is that this team, with the players they have, seem to have some fight to them, something I have not really seen since the championship days. Yao and Tracy were All Stars that were fun to watch, but they could not take us to the promised land. They were not fighters; they were fragile and not the two stars to build a team around. They were great basketball talents and I cheered for them, but it was what it was. To make matters worse, they just kind of died on the vine, with us receiving little in return. There is no need to cry over spilled milk, but the reality is no team can go through that and not take some time to recover. We have gone from two All Stars to none, and if the first part of the season is any indication, we are playing nearly at a par to previous teams. It's more than just the record, it's the way they are doing it. It may not be pretty, but it's not about pretty, it's about having more fight in you than the other guy. It's hard to say, but all indications are that it's McHale who is responsible for our new found edginess. According to the posts I've read here by folks who seem to understand this better than I, we are fairly well positioned to improve the personnel on our team. If we can take the fight to the rest of the league with some upgraded weaponry, we should do well. At least I hope so. I feel better.
I'm more of a gospel fan, so I feel "Joy" everyday watching Lowry, Dalembert, Parsons, and Lee. Sometimes I feel like they need a trade, so that I can "Hold on, Help is on the Way", but generally to Morey, I say, "I Believe in You and Me", and "Step by Step", we're getting better.
