And you sit in judgement of a radio talk show host...

I think we both recognize that whether or not someone is a racist is far more complex than superficial stuff, however you choose to convict on superficial stuff and I don't.

Careful. That seat of judgment is very uncomfortable; don't sit there too long!

I've said before that I don't sit in judgment of Rush as a racist. I've said that he's said racist things. He has and they are clear. The most recent racist thing is a perfect example.

You keep trying to say he can't be a racist because he works with black people.

I'm going to sit in the chaise lounge of judgment and ask why you continue to play giddyup's game, which is the exact same one he has played for years..i mean it is going on a decade.

Look, he's some bored old dude from north carolina whose hobbies include playing around with race baiting on the interwebs by sympathizing with assholes and then feigning innocence and playing dumb when questioned, then retiring to the fainting couch when he is called out on it. Nothing new here.

It's not really amusing or funny - I've played the troll game and trust me I know a good ol' troll game when I see it. But dude just plain sucks.

    Ummm...not exactly.

Many Dems do follow Olbermann and Matthews as their political guide. Refgal's sister has Keith Olbermann bumper stickers on her car. She has one that says simply "Thank You Keith." I am pretty sure these weren't custom made, so there are fanatics out there.

Be not fooled. The liberals have their own hate mongers. They demonize and attempt to dehumanize anybody who dissents from their oh so righteous opinion on all things political. We may not be able to throw around sexy terms like "racist" at them, but they are there.

I now return you to your regularly scheduled program.

    Exactly...

But leave it to people to twist everything around into some wish that all of white America dies...

You can hide your head in the sand all you want. I will stand by the statement. Older people (over 50 and especially white) have more of an issue with blacks, inter-racial dating, etc. than the more "younger crowd". Thats just the way it is.

And so people don't think I am just picking on the white folk, I will use my family as an example.

We are from the Dominican Republic. My mom is headed into her 60's. She was absolutely, positively against me dating anyone that was black. All I had was black girlfriends until I was in my late 20's (just my preference). Heard all the racial jokes, etc. I know that this stems from the fact that my grandmother is white. She made it clear to my parents that white/blue eyes/blond is a better way to "better" our "race". Just a sick thought. But you know what? Thats how people from THAT generation in my native country thought. I heard this from alot of Dominicans. They want you to marry a "gringo" to make the kids prettier, etc.

Now, I ended up marrying a light-skinned, beautiful woman (I think) and guess what? She was all the rage when I brought her home the first time. And when they met her blond, blue-eyed brother (who literally looks like A-Rod), I got the proverbial thumbs up.

And yet, during all my dating of black women, my sisters (in their 30's), my brother (in his 20's), my friends (30's), my younger family members....ALL LOVED and spent time with them without one negative comment. I even dated a Haitian from 1992-1994 and that was the prettiest, finest woman I ever dated before my wife came along.

I don't wish for white people to die. Nor do I approve of that thought. Sorry if you think that. Thats not what I meant and maybe I should put down the crack.

But, those are the facts. The older you are, more than likely you got that racist shiznet going on.

As generations advance, this racist tendency (I hope) is going to continue to get better.

This is what I want to know...

Is it because I was so far up my own ass or too busy chasing women or drunk or whatever...that just 20 years ago when I was in high school, people like Rush couldn't rile up so much hate? Republican or Democrat?

Did this all start with Bill Clinton and the insane hate Republicans had for him? The hate spew carried over to GWB and now you throw in some racism with that spew and its just amplified? What the hell did I miss during the start of all this crap?

Its insane to me that Rush and Glen Beck and all the assholes on the left who....how the hell do these people make SO MUCH MONEY just from tapping into the 15% of America that still lives in the 18th Century mentally?? I find it astonishing that this really suppose to happen in a nation that holds its society to such high moral standards.

    Talk about your niche markets!

Even though racism is getting better as the years go on, I think hate speech is just about to head into its prime years.

    Actually,

Chris Matthews would be THE perfect leader for the Democrats. He is all talk...just like Democrats.

Don't get me started on ESPN's Keith Olbermann.

Going through the responses I am extremely dissapointed. People fail to realize that what we are talking about is human lives, but they refuse leave politics out of it.

What rush said is deplorable. There are people sitting under tons of rubble waiting for their death as people like rush make comments like these.

Pieces of **** like this should not be alive.

What Rush said is deplorable. If everybody was like me, Rush would have to go get a different job, because nobody would be listening to him.

That being said, I don't believe it is up to us to decide who deserves to live and who deserves to die based on their commentary.

Freedom of speech means that a lot of stupid people will say stupid things over the airwaves. I don't like Rush, most people will hear this and realize he's a piece of human feces, but, all being said, he has the right to say what he wants.

...and anyone with a brain in their head should utilize their right not to listen.

So you won't condemn him as a racist (although he says racist things) but you want me to condemn him as a racist? Don't expect me to do your heavy lifting!

To say he "works with black people" is an intentional understatement on your part. He regularly turns over (and has for years) the golden EIB microphone to guest hosts who are black conservatives-- particularly Williams, Sowell is just usually a guest.

Rush has cultivated his audience over decades; Williams and Sowell are not hired to do his taxes or mow his lawn. They are entrusted with his audience on a regular and continuing basis.

Ridicule that "working" relationship all you want; I'm not buying.

I've backed away from nothing. It doesn't surprise me that you have a chaise lounge for judgment because it is a full-time occupation for you.

All you are good for is ridiculing what you don't like. Yawn.

I'm saying it doesn't matter what his relationship is with those two men. It doesn't preclude him from being a racist.

He may be. He does say racist things. You don't have to proclaim he's a racist, but stop trying to deny his racist statements by using the (non)excuse that he has black guest host while he has heart attacks, participates in sex tourism, or goes into rehab, or takes a vacation. The fact that he has a black guest on also doesn't mean he doesn't say or do racist things.

It is very likely that Rush says things that are racist to stir up this kind of publicity. That's all there is to it. The fact that he has an audience and defenders speaks to them as much as it does to Rush.

This reminds me of the time that giddyup tried to convince us that Ted Nugent was using "wetback" as a term of endearment for his Latino friends. Of all the things that are discussed on this board, giddyup shows the most interest and energy for defending racists. Shame on him.

No one is suggesting he doesn't have a right to say racist things. giddyup also has the right to defend racists (his favorite pastime). But we also have the right to denounce racists and make fun of giddyup's rabid defense of them.

I've told you countless times that I was just getting your arrogant goose with that one. Don't try and trot it back out. I grew up in Texas and know what wetback means... :(

Here is a "dictionary.com" definition of racist:

"a belief or doctrine that inherent differences among the various human races determine cultural or individual achievement, usually involving the idea that one's own race is superior and has the right to rule others."

For those of you bandying the racist accusation around, exactly what did Rush say that was racist? If you need to provide your own definition of "racist" to make your point, please do so.... ;)
