No wishing for the death of white people is, but obviously that's the enlightened, open-minded liberal mindset. So it's all good.
I think the real question here is this: How does God not find a new way to communicate with everyone here on earth? I'm all for his existence and everything, but seriously, you'd think that after trying to deal with Pat Robertson for the last few decades that God would just set up a blog or buy the Catholic channel and create his own original programming. He's so stuck in the 0030s right now...
Things are just not that simple. Not lying does not equal truth. Lying is a deliberate misrepresentation. There's a whole huge area here for just being wrong and innocent about it-- shades of which we all must carry.
Just to "shut you up" with your own words: two of Rush's regular and excellent substitute hosts are part of that black, upwardly mobile population. Why would he do that? ...unless you are wrong?!
Let's not root for the death of anyone But what you observed is what has been going on forever everywhere..with all races and colors. It's the changing of the guard. Younger generations(usually more enlightened, but not always) usually bring about change. And not just limited to racial views. It encompasses culture as a whole....from what we eat to the way we feel about people that are different. It's not a white/black thing, it's a not a republican/democrat thing....it's just the natural order of things. I would go as far as to say...it's a responsibility of the younger generations to learn from the mistakes of of older generation and make the changes needed to move forward in an enlightened manner. Just my two cents....for what it's worth.
First of all, you do realize that this is no different than the tired argument racists like to make that they can't hate black people since they happen to have a black friend, right? Secondly, earlier in this thread, when you were apologizing for Rush's comments, you mentioned that he was referring to the "'black community' worldwide"--this in response to the argument that Obama has no reason to pander to American blacks, who support him overwhelmingly. The problem is, in your...ehem...rush to defend the great pill-popping pontiff of the right, you failed to read the entire quote, which I will reproduce here (because I'm a nice guy): The passage that appears in bold and exposes the absurdity of your position was emphasized by my hand.
please see the post that already addresses that. The fact that he has two black people who sub for him doesn't mean he doesn't do racist things. Stop acting like that has anything to do with his racist statements. It doesn't. That line of reasoning was even a joke used on the old All in the Family show. It was a joke then because back in the 70's people already knew the "black friends" defense wasn't valid.
He's just using "shades of truth" (aka making stuff up without regard to accuracy). It's totally different than lying. And if it's good enough for Rush, it's good enough for giddyup.
Oversight on my part but hardly absurd. Nothing to see here. Your side continues a relentless assault on every single thing Rush Limbaugh ever does and I pipe up to defend him from the attacks. Yawn.
I said nothing about "making stuff up;" I spoke up misunderstanding. Is that a lie on your part or did you really not discern the difference?
