It's a total shame that one person has so much perceived influence. Rush is an idiot.

This isn't a basso thread. It's almost like you don't actually read or pay attention and just write preprogrammed posts that have nothing to do with anything. I also think it's amusing that you think you're an impartial observer.

so I'm pro-life and anti-homo marriage, and I like guns. YES! I'M CONSERVATI!!

whatever. I've said it 10 times here, I'm not a conservative, but if I fit the boards flimsy definition of conservative, so be it. I'm not gonna beg you to believe me.

I hate everybody. both parties are full of suck.

Its very typical for angry young males in the 23-28 age demographic to be disgruntled toward political parties and find no real satisfaction from the views of either side.

The liberal camp may seem cooler socially, but at the same they represent fruity hippies who want to save animals and feed starving children and that certainly isn't macho. Meanwhile Team Republican just seems too uptight and trousers and suspenders, even if they support cool things like Guns, they also seem like they aren't too keen on pounding a sixer and catching a game, but are more inclined to get up at 7 AM on Sunday morning, sing a couple of hymnals and then catch the lunch special at Olive Garden.

This is one of the many flaws of the two party system and eventually leads to too many people accepting their fates in terms of blue or red, black and white.

Its all so bifurcated when it doesn't have to be.

    Tragic, really.

A party who doesn't want to legislate morals or markets could come to the rescue.

Not quite. Here is what Rush said: "Now, I want you to remember, it took him three days to respond to the Christmas Day Fruit of Kaboom Bomber, three days. And when he came out after those three days, he was clearly irritated that he had to do it. He didn't want to do it. He comes out here in less than 24 hours to speak about Haiti."

The contrast that was made was to the relative speediness of a public response to the Haitian disaster when compared to the Panty Bomber.

I would also add that world approval ratings for Obama are sought after not just registered US voters.

Is the man who points out racism when he sees it in the shenanigans of Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton, guilty of being a racist himself just for pointing it out?

Let's ask Walter Williams or Thomas Sowell...

Yes quite. Here is what he also said.

"This will play right into Obama's hands. He's humanitarian, compassionate. They'll use this to burnish their, shall we say, "credibility" with the black community"

    - Rush

That's what he said on Obama and Haiti. IT's in the OP.

He may or may not be racist. But he does racist things including this one. Having 2 black people who work for him, doesn't mean he isn't racist. In fact that doesn't prove anything.

three days is quicker than six days which was bush's response time to the shoe bomber.

but that doesn't matter because bush wasn't black.

i heard there were a lot of people in the south in the 1800s that had black people working for them. i guess they weren't racist either!

    1. There is a "black community" worldwide. Anyone remember the big earthquake in Iran shortly after 9/11.... or the commencement of Shock and Awe, I forget which?

    2. It's a stretch to say that Williams or Sowell "work for Rush." He asks them to take over his hosting responsibilities (the golden EIB microphone!) when he has a conflict. There's a little more responsibility there than just "working for him." They become the voice of that broadcast.

... and I thought FB's characterization of that working relationship was bad? You just scooped him!

The point is that Rush can have any relationship with Williams and Sowell and doesn't help in any way shape or form to show that he isn't racist.

    1. What difference does that make? Rush said they would use Haiti to help them with their cred in the black community. He brought race into something that had nothing to do with race.

I don't know why Rush is acting in a racist way, but please don't try and make the claim because there are blacks all over the world that somehow that makes what he said less racist.

What is a racist's position on equality? Do racists "hand the keys over" to their empire typically to members of another race-- if they are indeed racist?

Maybe you mean something less egregious in the term racist than I think you are? Does having any awareness of race (conscious or unconscious) make one a racist?

I cited that fact because someone suggested that Obama had nothing to gain due to an alleged 95% approval rating from black US voters. There has been quite a lot of negative press in the past few months about the international perception of Obama.

This guy shouldn't have a job. The only thing sadder than Limbaugh himself are people that actually listen to his rubbish.

Granted, I don't know one person who likes this guy.

    lol....

for me it has more to do with the back and forth finger pointing and constant 'my dingy is longer than yours' mantra of each party.

too much cheerleading from each party's base.

imo it just seems like people treat the political arena like a sporting event and only care about what the other side is doing or not doing, not the actual issues.

this healthcare reform is a perfect example. SOMETHING needed to get done and all we ended up with is a completely watered down product that, on the surface, seems to have accomplished nothing. Good job dems. good job republicans. once again.......nobody wins.
