So since that is helping, I'm going to take this opportunity to call out other posters for being dumb enough to try to reason you when you employ the "Look, I'm just voting for David Duke for small government!" routine.

It really is the definition of unfun, since giddyup just acts dumb in a disingenuous fashion, but is not intelligent or creative enough to make it amusing. (other than when he starts crying and demands an apology like a wounded little girl - i must admit that I enjoy that routine).

So unless somebody is going to call him an ass clown or something that will initiate this response I once again recommend letting him drop.

Oh please note the link below. This post was for charity.

Sarcasm noted... but I never said he was a saint; I just defended him from spurious charges of being a racist. Rush's agenda is to empower people to lift up themselves in the face of whatever challenges they face. I've never seen him put any kind of color requirement/barrier on it and I was a pretty devoted listener for 10 years or so. Instead, I'm supposed to listen to the people who have shallow or no first-hand experience with the man-- except to look at things taken out of context and ignore any argument that doesn't line up with their accusation.

Sam, just go stare at your own image in the mirror. That's what you do best. So now Rush is like David Duke? Uh-huh....

I daresay that I'm one of the more reasonable ones here. I don't get uptight. I don't call names. I engage the criticism. I respond to the inquiries. I generally ignore the bullies like you.

You just show up for your cheap shots and ask for your ball cause you wanna go home... well go!

I looked at it because of this thread. Got anymore baseless accusations. I actually read a lot of it. Try it; you might learn something about the man. My guess is that you'd rather just sit on your bundle of knowledge.

im not the one going around claiming i never listen to the guy, but defending him against all attacks. i actually do tune in from time to time, mainly b/c there really isnt that much out there in the world of "biased liberal media" radio other than "conservative" talk shows. and if you are stuck w/ am radio b/t 11 and 2 its either limbaugh or romey (epic-fresh).

i know all i need to know about limbaugh - he is an insincere piece of crap - he is a hypocrite - he is a liar - he is a tool - he is a mouthpiece for the neocon agenda - he is an instigator and a race-baiter - ect

but i have never called him a racist. infact, a few months ago, after he had said something else stupid and ignorant and there was a thread about it - people were on there calling him a racist and i specifically said that although his comment was racially insensitive and race-baiting, i dont know if you can outright call him a racist for it. in that way i was actually defending oxycoitin-boy and there were a couple posters who even challenged me on my position that you cant call limbaugh an outright racist.

however, limbaugh has a clear history of making race-baiting comments - thats what they are. he knows exactly what he is doing, which is stirring the pot. i doubt he even believes much of what he says. but the point is that his listeners believe him and believe him to be sincere. its a free country and if he wants to act this way and if radio networks want to pay him for it that is their business, but if you cant understand after all this time why people might think limbaugh is a racist than you might not be as objective as you claim.

EDIT: here are my comments from the 'Boycott Limbaugh Buying Rams?' thread from October 09. just for giddy!
EDIT II: scanning over that thread i see giddy spending quite a bit of time defending limbaugh in there too. im sure limbaugh appreciates the support, especially considering its comming from someone who doesnt even listen to his show! you get really defensive about it too - "im not going to just sit by and let people slander this man...whose show i havent listened to in 10 years".

I don't "claim" that I never listen to the guy. That is my reply when someone accuses me of being a ditto-head. I used to listen to the guy every day for more than 10 years; he is/was fascinating. I don't always agree with him and I certainly don't always like his methods.

Seems like most of his "race-baiting" comments are made toward those who play the race card continually (Jesse Jackson/Al Sharpton) or the occasional opportunity to stick it to a political "opponent" like Harry Reid (in this case).

I can understand why people "think" he is a racist... I can also understand why they can't "prove" it. They've taken a bunch of superficial, sensational, comedic material and tried to frame it as Rush's Manifesto.

    The man is very flawed.

I probably shouldn't have singled you out, but you did suggest that I was being dishonest about my connection to Limbaugh. I've gone to his website to investigate/substantiate things brought up here. I'm not a Rush 24/7 subscriber and I tried to tune in his radio show during the exchange in this thread only to find out that it has been off the air in my market since 12/31.
My Limbaugh heyday is past but that doesn't mean I will let him be pilloried.

I've read his books and I've checked in on him in the past from time to time. I don't know what I'll do now....
