Yao was the most lethal offensive weapon in the league if he was healthy..I'll give him that.

But it is a big IF.

He's not in the same class as Lebron and Durant. He isn't even as good as Harden.

Hibbert is not at all comparable to Yao skill-wise. Yao would easily score if guarded one on one by Bosh, and he's a better passer too if double teamed.

I was talking about back in Yao's heydays of playing basketball when he stood within three feet of the basket and put the ball into the hole, not as of today. That said, I guess you can still make a case that LBJ or Kobe back then were more lethal than him. But then, in the case of Kobe, you are comparing a player who primarily scored by taking jump shots to one who made his living under the basket with high percentage shots.

Yao doesn't have the versatilty of Kobe or Lebron because he depends so much on others getting him the ball in the post. You can't just isolate and go 1-4 flat like you can with a Kobe/Harden/Lebron, or anyone who can create off the dribble.

With that said, his dominance physically wears down teams/adjusts their whole defensive gameplans. Against Portland Yao's efficacy began to slow, but he was such a load defensively cause of the fronting/doubling/rotating etc that it opened it up for others.

I don't really know what more people could've wanted out of Yao. He's 7'6, 300 pounds. there is a reason past giants his size have not been effective, but he had an amazing touch/feel.

It's a freaking miracle he was able to run up and down a hardward floor with elite level atheletes all his life at that size.

there was no 'stickiness' with yao. he was an offensive system, low post/ highpost he could do it all. And defensively with yao top 4, without yao bottom of the league. yao was the most under appreciated franchise player by the western media.

Yao proved he was a mighty all-star in the league. His only problem was fronting defenses that could be overcome with good entry passing schemes. Well, that plus he was not a good lateral defender, pick and roll was not good for him.

Not sure if you are serious.

Considering so many idiots swarm the forum lately, chance is that you are actually serious. LOL.

Wow. The guy is gone. Is this going to be your shtick until we get another Asian player? turn everything into a Lin thread? Stop spending so much time in your troll account and go back to posting more as your regular internet persona. The **** is old. Your troll shtick is old. shut the **** up with your borderline racist bull**** and try to be a real ****ing rockets fan more often.

Yup, I've seen them denying him the ball by fronting but he reestablishes himself on the other block, but the pass never comes.

The only thing lin and Yao have in common is that their name has three letters.

That is this the only thing period
