Kidd is going to like playing with Melo and Amare is going to like playing with Felton. We may have Team A and Team B on the Knicks, Team B will do better. If the team does anything above seed 3 is a success.
I think it all depends on their PG play, and health. If Kidd still has some life left in his legs then his ability to set the tempo and be a coach on the floor will be cruicial to make sure that the offense is well balanced. If Kidd and Felton can perform well then they should win between 50 and 53 wins this season in the East. In the playoffs I dont give them too much hope beyond maybe a first round exit against a contender or a second round exit if they get good playoff position in the regular season. The last question I have for them is - Can Amare and Melo finally find a way to play well with each other?? If those two finally figure that chemistry out then they could be legit contenders. I have my doubts because its Amare is a square peg, and Melo is a round hole, but "if" they ever figured it out, then they could contend. They probably wont though.
The Knicks in 2012-2013 is a team full of overpaid players that is a first round team at best. They have two PGs that are older than 35 and one is coming off an awful season and is overweight. They have a SF that is a ballhog and a PF that gets paid like a 1st tier superstar but is a 2nd tier at best when healthy ( which was a few years ago) and those two players do not mesh on the court... Tyson Chandler is a good pickup but they Knicks paid too much for him. Overall, the Knicks tend to overspend for players they think will make them contenders but at the end, they will be hanging around the bottom of the playoff spot in the East and more than likely will get knock off the first round because Carmelo Anthony will try to outscore the other team in points throughout the playoffs. So far, the Knicks with Anthony in the playoffs is 1-8 which is pretty awful if you ask me.
I think they can get 50 wins if healthy, but 45ish seems more likely. I doubt that 50 wins will be enough for a top 3 seed in the East, btw.
