Hakeem is the most respected player in the NBA without question, by fans, players, and management. New York, Indiana, and San Antonio seem to jump out as the cities that would give him the most respect, with LA, Portland, Dallas, and Orlando close behind. I just hope that the local papers remind fans that this will be Dream's last stop in their arena.

But the most important thing is that this farewell tour goes a lot better than the last Rocket's.

I hate Jordan's ugly face and actually I think Hakeem is one of the best looking athletes. I know he looks a hell of a lot better than jordan.

The reason Hakeem didn't become a huge national icon for the NBA is because he retained one thing that so many NBA players today have totally forgotten exists: dignity. Hakeem was the picture of calm, cool composure despite the fact that, during his prime, most nights his opponents had their asses handed to them. He shaked, he baked, and when he scored, he didn't "raise the roof", create some crude recreation of one of his initials, or go romping around the court like chicken with its head cut off. He jogged down the court, nodded his head, and pointed those long fingers at whomever gave him the pass. He also managed, through no small feat, to keep most of his personal life a secret from the media. What Hakeem ate for breakfast was never a story in any city, including Houston. Hakeem merely went about his business, working hard to be the best he possibly could, and stepped on no one's toes in the process. No, Hakeem was no Jordan, he was better.

First of i want to make a disclaimer so that you don't start hating me.... dream is my favorite all time nba player, hell athlete. i truly think he is great and i respect him immensly. but.....

back around 1990-92 he was demanding trades, and he was actually pretty angry on the court at times. he got ejected from some games, and he wasn't exactly the calm and serene picture you paint him as. of course then when rudy took over as coach, hakeem had a real metamorphises and became a lot more religious, humble, and tranquil.
