Maybe you prefer Stromile Swift or Joey Dorsey.

If we could get Dwight Howard then I'd obviously want that.

Unfortunately, we wont get a top tier center. The trick is to get the best value and for 3-4Mill a season, Spencer Hawes provides that kind of value with the potential he has. Its low risk/high reward and its better than what we are settling for now.

Honestly, I would love to get NeNe, even if he would cost us 10 Mill a year. But it wouldnt be bad to have Spencer Hawes at half the price and half the commitment.

We really would be turning into the Kings if we get Hawes...

Why stop there? Let's get Iggy too for a later first rounder and side of fries.

Sizers aren't letting Hawes go for expirings and a second rounder....i can't see them giving up Hawes, much less on a one sided deal that'll open a huge hole at center for them.

Ideal 5 for us should be a rugged, hard-nosed defender/rebounder...with height.

Theyd clear Nocioni's 6 million which puts them under luxury, so in reality they would save more. Also, they dont have a huge hole as Speights has started at C for them most of the time and when Thaddeus comes in at PF, Brand slides over to center.

So lets get Hakeem out of retirement or maybe Charles Oakley. How many of those centers are really left in the NBA? Go ahead, I dare you to name 5.

Hawes is way too consistent and he isn't as good of a shooter as he is made out to be.

he costs 3 mill this season and 4 mill next season. Like I said, hes not the best center in the world, he has obvious flaws but he fits Adelman's system and can transition rather quickly... if he doesnt, hes off the hook.

You guys focus way too hard on the negatives and really fail to see the potential positives that can come out of such a low investment.

Only centers I prefer are either Marc Gasol or Marcin Gortat.

Speights is only 6'10 and inconsistent at center. I think they're more concerned with unloading Brand than Nocioni. Hawes is a 20/10/2 player when he's playing starter's minutes and only 22 i believe. I think it'll be tougher to get him.

...maybe DM should pursue Robert Swift while we're at it.
