Well done with NO: lettuce, tomatoes, mustard, mayo, ketchup, onions, or pickles.

It needs to have: quality meat, a big piece of cheese (prefer Swiss; please no American plastic cheese), and then either mushrooms or green chiles. Bacon is OK.

Another possible substitute is: Cheddar, and either hickory sauce/ bacon or just some chili. Onions or jalapenos are OK on this if they've been fried first.

And for places that don't have the above, patty melts always work. :)

    I prefer mine medium-rare.

Although I will try any gourmet burger "as-is", I tend to prefer mine with jalepenos, and pico de gallo. The cheese is always a day to day thing.

When I grill them at the house I put grilled onions and peppers on top, with spicey brown mustartd and cheese.

Whataburger I use mustard, lettuce and onions, Sonic I use mayo.

Mayo, onions (chopped), jalepenos (green chiles if I'm in New Mexico) and cheese. Every once in a while, I'll add bacon or something, plus I don't mind a fully loaded one with lettuce, tomatoes and mustard on occasion.

Exactly....except no onions. I prefer my onions fried and dipped in ketchup.

    Mayo sucks.
