How do you have Durant on your team and you can't run plays for him

sounds like how someone described a former player of ours who got stuck in same situations a lot

KD has looked like this many times in his career no matter the PG or the Coach.

He is an All-Time great but he still has flaws. He struggles to fight off ball, get position down low in the post, he gets passive, and his handle is suspect.

He's not like a Lebron where he could bring the ball up the court and cook or bully you down low.

The only team where KD really "worked" was the Golden State Warriors that was already a 73-9 team with 3 All-stars before he came.

Sengun was too hot so using KD as fake did work, it’s just we were playing like a team that was assembled weeks ago which is kinda true. Thing is we’re far from finished product and don’t think we gonna face OKC caliber team every nights.

Cuz we have no one that can throw an entry pass to him outside of Sengun.

This reminds me of when Harden would sit and we would have no one who can throw an entry pass until we signed CP3.

One game, the first game, in a one point double OT loss on the road against the champions lol.

He's also 38 years old, let the team play and gel over the season.

The offense doesn’t look good to me. I think this is where we really miss Fred. Fred wasn’t an elite PG, but he had an idea about positioning players and getting them the ball at the right time.

Tonight we saw one team that understands how to move the ball to the open man, and another team that just struggled to bring the ball up the floor.

I'm going to wait to judge the offense as a whole, especially against OKC.

They deny every pass they possibly can (with a lot of fouling tbh), it can gum up even the best of offenses, much less one with a lot of new pieces and new roles.

Get an offensive minded assistant coacH. maybe someone from the Kerr tree. Is Luke Walton available?

You miss how this coach dragged last year's mediocre team that lacked top talent to the second seed? Shut your mouth.

Excluding KD ISOs, we looked like last years team on offense. The initial action is way to slow and late into the clock. Action quality is kind of worse considering Fred doesn't run the PNR.

No worries though. First and foremost, OKC has great defense. Also, I'm sure we'll get better as the lads gel.

Ime needs to enforce a clearer and more disciplined pecking order. It’s just the first game, but when you have one of the greatest isolation scorers in history, it’s unacceptable to see role players hijacking possessions that should run through him.

I swear, fans are so ridiculous about coaches. Ime made the finals his first year as a coach. He immediately turned around the Rockets and dragged last year's team that lacked true top end talent to the 2nd seed in the West. He's consistently in COTY conversations. But he's not a great coach? Give me a break.

This, the concerning aspect of all its the timing. Actions start very late in the clock. If we are going to flow, that may work too with the pieces we have, but we have to set up people for success. Secondary actions need a little bit more tempo.

Time will fix most things. The Rockets will be great in time. KD needs his playing time limited —> managed. That is the only take away needed for now. The team looked better than ever till Father Time slapped KD around a little bit. The first 1/2 was a work of art.
