I agree with all this. I took up swimming everyday at the end of March. I could only swim 15 mins at first but I swam more everyday, consistently. I've swam everyday since then. I've dropped 45 lbs in 4 months eating mindfully, swimming everyday and doing yoga everyday. Now that i've dropped some weight I'm starting to take short hikes every other day and increasing the distance slightly each time. I've also started sitting down and working through the circuit weights at the gym where I swim on the days I don't take a short hike.

I struggle with food so that's what I'm combating against.

Struggling with sleep is just as bad. Affecting positive change in nutrition, exercise, and stress reduction can't hurt and should help with sleep, I know it did for me. Consistency & patience are key.

Play a video game. Finally got a nice TV in the bedroom with my old Xbox/Nintendo Switch hooked up.

I don't have any issues with sleeping (yet) so it's not a problem. On days where work or stress or whatever makes it harder to sleep, I am able to go to sleep by forcing myself to think about boring and/or comfortable things.

No advice for you, @Manny Ramirez , other than to get exercising when you're up to it, watch your posture, and maybe try a good massage therapist if the chiropractor doesn't have you better soon.

    I wish you well, brother!

I keep my house at 65 degrees at all times during the summer. 73-74 degrees in the summer is too hot for me. I couldn’t sleep at 73-74 degrees.

A chiropractor isn’t going to “cure” anything for you. They aren’t even medical doctors and cannot read MRI’s films so they have no real basis to diagnose you with what they did.

If it is hurting you as bad as it sounds it is, go to an orthopedist and they will tell you what is going on and treat you or tell you the options you have with a neurologist or pain doctor.

Also, there is no way for a chiropractor to objectively tell you if your hips are out of alignment.

If you are having spasms you likely need a muscle relaxer or steroid until your body heals. You may also need physical therapy to show you how to strengthen the muscles.

A massage from a chiropractor or a massage therapist likely helps for a short period of time because it relaxes you but it is a temporary bandage on a genuine medical issue.

eliminate coffee and switch to tea. The caffeine from coffee stays longer.

Pretty easy method for me is to grab a late night snack. Then go back to bed while surfing on your phone or tv and you’ll be in a trance in no time.

I go to sleep with movies or music on every single night. I can’t sleep without it. Particularly when my mind is racing worrying/thinking about clients, work stuff, family, nuclear war, the Astros, nihilism, the Rockets, death, the Texans, regret, Baylor hoops, my parents, how I’m gonna feel when Sting dies, aliens, Irish guilt, and also the Astros.

If the Rockets are keeping anybody up at night, boy do I feel for you. You haven’t had a good night of sleep in over 3 years.

I’ll sort of replay a basketball game in my mind and just the process of my mind thinking and executing the flow of the game is like counting sheep for me.

However lately I’ve been dealing with sleep apnea which has been an off and on situation for me for years now. It’s finally time for me to start the process. Does anyone have any tips for expediting the process to get a CPAP since I know I have sleep apnea and that’s inevitable? I’ve put it off mostly because I don’t have time to go to the doc in two weeks, then sign up for a sleep study at some clinic where that night I magically sleep great or can’t sleep at all, then I gotta go back to the doc the finally maybe get a cpap two weeks after that.

So as many tricks as I have to get to sleep the worst is when you achieved that but then the sleep apnea jumps you out of the bed gasping for air. Will gladly take advice for anyone here that’s dealt with it.

I had a really tough night last night sleeping. And woke up many times. It’s rare for me to sleep straight through and usually wake up once or twice. Especially since my pet will wake me up at 5:00 to get fed.

I did get back to sleep each time but had some vivid and unsettling dreams.
