Plus you can keep a stable of assets for future trade whiffs when you dont play them...That way noone can see the "upside" of those players but you...

i guess right now would be a bad time to mention Jermaine Taylor had 21 pts on 9-12 shooting 5 rebs with only 1 turnover (i didn't mention assists because he had none)... and the Kings won.

Your title and your thread are completely at odds, so I choose to answer the title question. Superstars are superstars well before they are drafted into the NBA. Goodnight.

prob bc there's no scouting report for him. once teams know he's not a great shooter and has a so-so handle, he'll fade back into mediocrity. Also, consider 'reke had to get injured for him to get minutes. on the KINGS.

I mean I agree with you.. but play them over who? The one thing we've found out the past two years is that there IS such a thing as having too much talent. The Rockets could have played JT at the expense of Budinger.. and then we'd deal CBud for a non-existent 2nd rounder and people would flip when he looks like a solid rotation player on another team.

Same situation with Terrence Williams now. I'm extremely high on him and want to get him on the court.. but over who? Not Martin, not Battier, not Lee.. that leaves Chase, and Chase seems to be tailor-made for our system.

In reality, we're playing too many people right now as is. The other night we played 10+ guys -- that's absurd. If you want to give your team continuity, cut the damn rotation. Sorry Budinger, go RT with Terrence on the bench. Sorry Miller and Hill, work on developing Hill in practice only.

There's absolutely no reason we should be playing two-deep at every position.

Tell that to Michael Redd, Gilbert Arenas, and Gerald Wallace.

*they may not be superstars but they weren't expected to be as big/good of players that they became

Not true at all. Kobe, Tracy, KG, Steve Nash, Dirk, Brandon Roy (before his knees died), Dwyane, Amare, Paul Pierce, none of those guys could be remotely considered superstars well before they were drafted. And that's a very lazy list from the top of my head. There are more, both historically, and in the now.

But the players on my list either are or were, so the point that your take is awful still stands.

there are only 4-5 given superstars in the league at a time

    Lebron
    Kobe
    Wade
    CP3

all but 1 of these guys were taken in the top 5 picks and he's the best one out of the group. Honestly i like Adelman but he's a sitting duck he's gone at the end of the season if he gets an extension i will be very shocked.

That's why I always say Darko was a superstar

But he got buried in that Detroit bench, so he became nothing

You are obviously a very young NBA fan to say that Kobe was "developed".

Wallace is not a good example, the player who started at Wallace's position was an all-star, all nba 2nd team, highest 3p% in the league....

It's the equivalent of not getting playing time ahead of Chris Paul as a 3rd year year raw young player being the coach's fault.
