Its not just the record, its how you win... if you need to have playoff intensity every game to win, you are in trouble. Its obvious the rockets brain trust gave up on the season even before it started.... heres hoping Morey can work his magic in lottery

Didn't you create a thread saying you hadn't watched all year? Of course you don't recognise the team. I'm sad we missed the playoffs but optimistic about the offseason/draft.

At least Memphis isn't making it either. That would be uber embarrassing if they made it and we didn't.

Exactly, I think most people knew the playoffs were more than likely out of reach, and with the trade changing the team's chemistry and Lowry getting hurt, this team's margin was used up.

No big deal, reload and hit it again in October.

Of course not happy about it, but until very recently I've felt pretty good about the effort they've been putting forth.

We have some great potential for next season ... problem is I think we hear that way too much around here. Seems like we're always looking for next year to be the year. When's it going to be THIS year?

it's ok this year...but next year, there should be No More excuses even if Yao goes down again...Morey needs to secure this team in that kind of situation.

I miss the relevance of this this time of year. Usually we are fighting for Home court position and the games at home mean a ton.

The growth of the young guys has kind of filled that void for me though.

Sign me up for this one. I'm glad we got to see brooks, scola, landry breakout somewhat and the development of chase and hill. They competed hard and fought every night so its all good.

I'm a HUGE Rockets fan, but I'm also realistic. I didn't expect them to make the playoffs at the beginning of the season. Of course, there was that glimmer of hope, which was fun, but most of you should have known we would not be in the playoffs. If we were, you should have known that it wouldn't have went far. You can only get so far in this league on scrappy.

On the other hand, I know this offseason could be key. I like Morey's work so far. I think he has done an excellent job to bring in the right personnel. No longer are we wasting big money on has-beens or over-hyped potential. I am excited about the summer and what it may mean to our Rockets. I feel some players will be out the door that I like, but I think the rewards will be higher than the losses. It is usually, "next year" with this team, but with Morey at the helm, next year might be the one.

For those reasons, I don't care that we're not going to the playoffs. Our boys fought hard and 98% of the time put forth more than they should have been capable of. You are talking about a team chalk full of write offs, players that weren't even on draft boards. A guy that was a projected first round pick, that slipped all the way to the middle of the second round. A guy that people said would be too short. A guy that the Spurs left in limbo with no desire to bring over. Another guy that was stuck behind a couple of point guards and never able to show his full potential. These guys are some of our key players now.

So I'm being realistic, and optimistic about next year, therefore, I don't care. My life will go on, the off-season bonanza is coming and football will be here in a few months to pass the time until the Rockets get back on the stage for a big run.

Disappointed, we have the talent to get in, and if this was the weastern cvonference, we'd have the 8th seed.

I accepted it a long time ago. The only reason I'm not upset about it is the enormous potential we have in the years ahead. 3 rookies who are gaining valuable experience, picked up a scorer, picked up draft picks, and it sounds like we're going to make an effort to bring in a star free agent this summer.

It's freaking awful! I can't stand to watch the Rockets lose to the likes of the Pacers, for any reason. I expected Houston to make the playoffs this year, and for the first half of the season, it looked like they'd make it in easily. Guys like Brooks, Scola, Martin, etc. need all the playoff experience they can get. There were some awesome wins this season, but the losses to nobodies piled up. Now there's nothing to look forward to until the draft, and I'm going to be pissed watching all the teams I hate keep playing for another month.
