Unless he improves his jump shot or starts to convert his layups at a better %, I don't see it being worth it to the Rockets if we end up giving up too much to get him. If the Wolves end up trading him, I'm assuming they're going to package Rubio with Martin. Minnesota would have to really go into full rebuilding and need to give up on Rubio before they trade their flashy PG.

Lol good point, avoiding Fegan-repped players is probably a good idea regardless of their on the court performance. Lookit some of those role players on here: http://hoopshype.com/agents/dan_fegan.htm Martell Webster for $5m?

Still torn, watching the WC again showed what a phenomenal player he can be if the shot is falling. Rubio with an at least mediocre shot is an eltie player on both ends that can change the outcome of a game with his unique feel for the ball.

Right now I'd trade for him if nothing better is available, most of our assets are expendable.

Actually.... given how Fegan is doing business...

IF we were to trade for Rubio, and obtain a top PF before next season... we would be operating way over the cap anyway, so giving Rubio max $ on a 2 or 3 year deal wouldn't matter, as cap would be tapped and we'd just be spending Les' $ in luxury tax.... what pfs goes Fegan have on HIS roster? ;)

Sounds like the Bledsoe situation all over again - wonder if they'll actually cave this time.

The day Rubio improves his jump shot is the day he becomes untouchable, so if you want Little Ricky, you better hope his offensive woes continue.

Interesting. I kind of wonder about him though. If he has a shooting coach working with him on his mechanics, why does his mechanics still look horrid. I would say wait for the first time he plays. If his shot looks the same as last season then I doubt he is serious about becoming a better shooter.

if you want Rubio , you havent seen him play enough. He is freaking awful. He would be Lin 2.0 with turnovers and bricks.

Last season he had the worst FG % in the league in the 4h qtr.

Rubio isn't half the player Bledsoe is, so I don't see a max 5 year deal happening. Still, it's Minnesota and they can't really count on FAs going there, so I could them overpaying to keep him.

Just like previous writer said if Pat Bev. Can hold down the point guard as the backup. But what do the Rockets need to give Flip Saunders for him? Maybe he wants to throw in Anthony Bennett. I would give him a couple 2nd round picks.

I think it's going to take a gamble of a trade for us to get better in the short term - something like what Phoenix did for Bledsoe or what we did for Harden. Easy to say I realize but even the Harden trade was criticized at the time for being a risk - whether or not he could lead a team outside of the 6th man role he was accustomed to.

Rubio can fit just like Rondo can - it just takes an adjustment in the style theyve played on the single team each has played for.

My guess is that our offer is DMo, Canaan, and 2 2nds for Rubio.

Can not state how much I hate trading for a PG who's only offensive ability is passing the ball

If you're being serious then (a) no wonder we haven't heard anything and (b) no wonder Morey isn't beloved among GMs.

Not that I agree with the offer. I would think Daryl knows he'd have to yield that first rounder.

    Whose.

Can't state how much posters must hate me for correcting their spelling and grammar.

    Nick "The Quick" over Cannan
    Pellie's over second rounders

I think Twolves pull the trigger if they can't secure an extension.

Love his defense and ability to run the floor. Hate the fact he can't shoot for **** and penetrate or finish around the rim.
