So there was a party at my college and they had it during black history month and they called it "Compton Cookout". The whole 1.3% of black students here got mad. Then the found out it was started by a black comedian named jigga boo jones lol
Great internet skills you have there....clap, clap, clap. Seriously, if you can't understand why it s not ok to call someone names they dont want to be called, you have deeper issues than can be attended to on a message board.
Is there a mrs rhadmanthus? Any chance you can share her pet names for you, cuz thats what I want to call you by from now on. If she can call you those names, I want to be able to, too. I'm sure you understand rhad (or is it rhaddy boy? )
Speaking of "great internet skills", it doesn't take much to explain your point to someone, or to do it without sounding like a jerk.
not when its an issue that has been flogged to death over and over again.... and if I sound like a jerk, what does rhad sound like... please share your insight on this too. Dont act like a jerk and leave me hanging.
What has Rhad said about the topic that was ever smart-ass or snarky like "If you haven't gotten it by now, you never will"? Seriously? He even asked you nicely for further explanation. His only jerky response was to *you* because, quite frankly, you provoked him and deserved it. And in case you haven't noticed, I've already posted my thoughts on the matter.
I don't understand what any of this has to do with what I wrote. Allow me to refresh your memory: Please show me where any of the above indicates that I have a desire to call anybody the infamous N-word. I don't like the word. But I don't like idiotic double standards and historical ignorance either. I admit, however, that my second sentence should have been better phrased. I am offended by the word. But it's difficult to rectify that offensive nature with it's casual use among the very people it was meant to disrespect!
You done? Time to put down those African American History books and maybe read about some other segments of our country's past.
No, not done, genius. Please educate me, since you're so much better read than I am, and make some suggestions. What books will help me understand that the magnitude of humanity and suffering in the Chinese experience of America compares significantly to that of Africans? I am seriously all ears, and I'm still waiting on your response to my sincere question: what exactly are you advocating in this thread? It sounds like you've painted yourself into claiming one race is simply more self-pitying and whiny than other races. But please tell me I'm wrong!
Maybe not superior to other Japanese, but from my own limited experience, they view whites in a better light compared to other minorities, esp. black people.
It is a derogatory word and should be dropped from our vocabulary, that goes for European Americans, Asian Americans as well as African Americans.
My point? Why don't you look at how this little exchange went first? Luckyazn: if asians and hispanics were swapped for blacks, there would be less whine today. Stone Cold Hakeem: Asians and Hispanics had it pretty bad but not as bad as African Americans: Me: Nah they had it real bad too. Poule(sp?): ASIANS DISCRIMINATED AGAINST BLACKS TOO Me: What? You (towards me): OMG BLACKS HAD IT THE WORST, WAHH, WAHHH, STOP CALLING THEM WHINY, WAHHH When did I ever make any direct accusations about blacks? Amazing job. Why don't I make some stupid accusation based on your words too? Here: Are you insinuating that one race deserves better treatment over others because of a worse history? Let's leave the african americans be and be racist to other people instead! They didn't have it that tough relatively speaking! I didn't know racism was that sensitive.
