Why do you think hes dogging it? remember a few years ago when he said he might retire early if his back becomes a issue as he gets older? the guy is hurt.. he was as excited as anyone when the Rockets got Ron. he said its up to us to make this a special season you think he would fake it to miss the special season? NOOO hes hurt.

It wouldn't hurt to get some athletism at the 3.. plus after Battier slows down Ariza would be the future Battier hes a good defender a great athlete.

who knows what happens with Ron after this season maybe he seasons with the Knicks for the MLE

You guys must not know anything about how or why players get traded. Do you have any idea how valuable Tracy McGrady is right now? He is making over $20 million and his contract expires in 2010 when Lebron James, Amare Stoudamire, Dwayne Wade, and a slew of other free agents will become available.

If The Lakers can put up a few more contracts with that deal, they could be sitting in the fabled cat bird seat come 2010. Just letting Odom go at $14 million isn't enough.

And watch how healthy TMAC looks when he lands in LA :)

    Lakers Get:
    McGrady/Hayes/Wafer/Head

    Rockets Get:
    Odom/Radmanovich/Vujacic

The Lakers get another championship, and Rick Adelman's secret fantasy becomes a reality with a team full of greasy haired European players that never play defense :)

And anybody who thinks The Lakers are giving up Ariza are sadly mistaken...

Fair offer but no thanks. Odom is another guy that plays when he wants to and cares only when he feels like it. He's mentally fragile just like T-Mac is. Couple that with the uncertainty of where he would play and how he would fit in -- pass.

Here's a nice video of some Lakers fans dreaming of T-Mac for Odom.

Getting some athleticism at the 3 isn't worth giving up a $20M expiring contract in 2010, especially when your SF's are Ron Artest and Shane Battier. Odom doesn't upgrade the position....so why trade for a SF when the team is already set there?

The trade benefits the Rockets in no way at all....

Odom is just as free to sign elsewhere.

So the lakers will have hard time signing both Odom and Ariza and the rockets will trade T-mac for both of them to solve the lakers' problem? Morey is not that stupid, no GMs in the league is as stupid as Chris Wallace!
I like your previous trade proposal Juwan Howard for Mihm and Cook better!

No thanks. Odom disappears much to often and is just flat out soft. Ariza is a decent player, nice defender but he doesn't really fill a need for this team.

I'd rather hold McGrady until the Rockets can get rid of his salary without bringing on another bad contract. Having a shot at landing a REAL All Star is much better than landing the Disappearing Man aka Lamar Odom.

You guys really don't know the meaning of the term "Buy low, sell high".

Anything you could get for T-Mac right now would be trash. If you truly wanna get something for T-Mac wait until he either a) regains his form at which point there is no reason to trade him or b) He becomes a very valuable expiring contract that can bring you real help.

Think with your heads, not with your hearts.

Personally, I hold on to him for now. WE can make the playoffs without him and if he returns to form he can help us in the playoffs.
If next year he is still crap then we trade him then for a superstar or wait for his contract to run out for a superstar.

    Odom/Ariza =/= 'ship

Now, if you can say trade for Lebron/Kobe/Wade or the like THEN we can start talking about trading t-mac.

i'd like to get Ariza. anybody that has watched the Lakers this year can't deny how valuable he is, especially on defense.

With or without TMAC, this team is not a contender.
With or without TMAC, this team is not selling tickets.

Les has to pay TMAC $20M a year.

By trading TMAC, Les can save his $20M. That's significant amount of money. If it is my money, I'd trade TMAC in a heart beat.

Its pronounced "O-Dumb" for a reason. Get that trash out of here, Lakers have nothing the Rockets want or need unless they are giving up the rapist for Head and Hayes.

Go kill yourself, I guess even salaries don't match not to say it's a stupid trade for both teams.

Lakers fans aren't known for their intelligence. This one just somehow fell out of Laker land. He's no different.

How can one ask for a 'neutral response' with a stupid question like this? Why would anyone give T-Mac to the Lakers, especailly for nothing? Yes, nothing. T-Mac can average 20-7-7 still, even though many of us won't believe it.

And yes, why would anyone trade Yao anything less than a superstar? Dumb Laker fan.

First of all, show some more respect and don't say something like "Go kill yourself", second, check the facts because they salaries do match, third here is my opinion: I wouldn't do this trade, because I think Odom and Ariza aren't an upgrade over a *****ed up T-Mac!
