Go to Crawfish & Beignets in the Hong Kong Mall. I'm a white guy, and those are the best crawfish I've ever had. They even sell beer for like $1.50. Nothing like getting lit up and throwing down some bugs in the middle of a mall.
...the mind really wonders at those potential images. thats a comedic scene just waiting to be put in a movie
Heh, I find it funny want Americans considering disgusting exotic/gross Asian (fish with eyes, wtf) but is also willing to eat and the vice versa.
This thread reminds me of a friend and her adventures with eating a different ethnic delicacy without proper instruction. For those of you who have never had tamales, make sure you remove the corn husk before eating! As far as crawdads go, suck the heads and peal the tails. It's just an overgrown shrimp
5-6 lbs??? Damn! How do people eat that much? I got pretty bored at it after about 40 minutes.. my hands got tired and it was too messy. Is that why it was? When I peal the head off there's that yellow/greenish lump that tastes weird. Next time I go there, I'm bringing my own hot sauce. The sauce they gave me was schitte.

None are that good though. If you're in the SW Houston area (all the way down to SL, Mo City, or Stafford especially), I'll show you how to eat crawfish if you buy me some =D.
no joke... going at it solo in a restaurant for the first time is a daunting task. it takes some practice, but you'll be ripping those tails off and sucking the heads in no time. just wait til it warms up and the crawfish boil season gets going.... it will change your life.
Yeah good thing I took it to go so I can save myself the embarrassment of eating it alone. And plus that's what I have you guys for. I actually waited until I ate (or attempted) about 10 of them before I got frustrated and posted. I wasted a good 10.
crawfish is made to be eaten in your backyard with a bunch of your friends, ton of ice cold beer, and some good music. nothing wrong with practicing, though.
I've eaten there and actually had someone with me to show me how to eat crawfish. Didn't really fill me up so I ate some pho and springroll afterwards from that other place nearby the crawfish place.
you do realize I let them dunk right? Plus nobody really posterized me.. I let them go. I didn't wanna embarrass anyone.
I know what straight tails mean, it means they were dead when cooked but I never knew it could kill you if that's the case.
