My point is simple. Shaq is a dominant center, and Yao is not intense as Shaq (yet), but I don't have problems with that, I like the way he performs so far this season. What's your next question?
My next question is the same as my last question which you have avoided to answer. Which NBA players in the last 20 years fit your definition of dominance which is 30/15?
Ever heard of phrase "hack-a-shaq"? teams foul shaq on purpose cuz he shoots 30% from freethrow line... while Yao shoots 90%, i am sure oppenent team coach tells his player "dont foul Yao, it's automatic points"! it's not fair to compare creating fouls between shaq and Yao.
Im not involved in the rookie fight here but im just telling you that was probably one of the worst comebacks.
Well, some good point there, Phil is only the coach with THE most # of championships. Who can really compare? BUT, defining dominance as creating fouls is simply too narrow and shortsighted. Remember Hack-A-Shaq strategy? Why? Because Shaq has really bad freethrow, so opposing centers have no problem fouling Shaq to force him to earn the points from the line. Yao, on the other hands, shoots FT in the 80-90% range. Which team is dumb enough to do a Hack-A-Yao?
