Now that the Rockets moved up a notch in contending for the title, I wonder how we will match up with Boston and SA. Whom do we have to guard Garnett and Duncan?

garnett is a perimeter player. if we have to, put tmac on him. tmac can guard lanky guys pretty well, just not bruisers, which garnett is not.

as for duncan, yao guards him fairly well.

Who do they have to guard Yao?

    ...With that said, Chuck Hayes.

Easy just shut down pierce allen, manu and parker. Let duncan and garnett do their team's scoring and they cant go anywhere.

Yao always stops Duncan when they guard each other in the 4th.

KG shoots jumpers and Artest is probably stronger than him, so Artest can defend KG.

Duncan always eats Chuck Hayes alive by just shooting over top of him. Chuck does a good job holding his ground, but hes just not tall enough to guard someone as good and large as Duncan. Yao always did a better job but Duncan could always get him into foul trouble.

im not worried about duncan at all, yao always guards him well. he seems to really have trouble with yaos size.

garnett on the other hand is a problem because he can hit 19 ft jumpers, and he is very long and a better athlete than duncan. garnett is a guy who will be able to get his against us regardless. hell no ron artest cannot guard KG. scola can't either.

Yao can stop Duncan, Duncan struggles against anyone with length, Gasol had his number in the WCF because of his length and there isn't a bigger player in the league then Yao.

As for KG, Artest might be capable of stopping him considering he isn't really much of a low post player.

Garnett is very soft. All you gotta do is put a physical defender on him, which in this case would most likely be Ron Artest. As for Tim Duncan, we would not want Yao on him until the 4th quarter so he does not get foul trouble.

KG gets garbage buckets... why on earth would you be worried about stopping him?

Better question would be how do we stop the quick pgs that eat us alive?

We still have Shane, Dorsey, and hopefully Landry.

I feel like we should use what ever is left from Landry to sign a tall SG or a backup C

It's like the old Bulls. Who did we have to cover Jordan? Maxwell.

Who did they have to cover Dream? nobody.

If we played the Bulls in the finals, I liked our chances.

Yao Ming presents way more of problem than KG or Duncan. Offensively that is. Yao is doubled more than any player in the NBA.

How does any team cover those guys?

There are few teams that have real answers for them.

KG and Duncan are going to get theirs just like TMac and Yao. With that said, Scola did a great job containing Boozer and I think he could hold his own against KG/Duncan. The problem last season was containing Deron Williams and AK.
