The Rockets do not need a back up Point Guard they need a skilled Playmaker Point Guard who is in the starting rotation and runs the team. Alston is nota playmaker and should come of the bench if we dont trade him.
Awww cmon. No one wants to go on another trip with Juan? Next season might be his breakthru year. You are saying he cannot improve from this showing? (Listed below are undeniable facts) FG% - 40% FT% - 63% PPG - 5 RBG - 4 Blocks - 0, Zero, Sephir, Nada, Zilch... Believe!
Juwan brings bad karma. Juwan is a spell on TMAC. Juwan is just a successful business man when put on sunglasses. Juwan+Tmac for Kmart+Iverson.
That kills me everytime I think about it. At the time Juwan was playing out of his mind and that is when the rockets needed to trade him. Buy low-sell high.
Package him with Sura and Head for Mobley and the ClipShow's #1 pick, throw in our #1 pick if neccessary. With Maggette the Clippers can't really afford to be paying Cat 9M per and we could finally have a guy that can hit open shots, drive the lane, and defend. Use the Clips pick to draft Noah, if he falls that far, Acie Law, Splitter, McRoberts or someone else to fill a position of need.
Sorry that it took so long. Been very busy lately with exams and research. Just got out of last class in Organic Chemistry. Looks like I will have some free time because I just found out I don't need to take the Finals for OChem. W00t!
It is pretty much impossible to buy low when it comes to Juan and his contract. The best you can do is .... Buy High, Sell slightly higher, and laugh all the way to the bank knowing you got rid of him somehow.
It's not about who you get rid of, it's about who you bring in. Getting rid of average players without getting better ones just makes you worse.
not necessarily true (i.e. Norris traded to Hornets last season)...I would be more than happy if we got junk and the player is the off the books after next season
Norris was totally useless... Juwan Howard actually made a difference.. in fact, he was ripping down offensive rebounds and playing possessed at the end of the game 7. Just a couple more bounces going Rockets way and he's a contributor to a series win. He contributed. Without Juwan, who would play the PF minutes when Chuck fouls out? Scott Padgett? Steve NOvak?
How about Rafer, Juwan and Sura to NY for Franchise and the 23rd pick? Francis only has 2 years left on that contract. It wouldn't be too bad.
We need a change and PF is a major weakness. You're right about him getting some key offensive rebounds but he didnt play well in this series.
