I keep Clutchfans open in the background at work. I know it looks like I have a lot of posts, but over 1,000 of them are from the Basketball fantasy draft threads. That was a headache...
Some people don't struggle in making awesome posts over 40k times in 13 years. You apparently do. Sorry, man.
This dude that got banned named ascaptjack was averaging like 30 posts per day. DD averages just under 18.
My question is what do the people that have 20k+ posts do for a living? And would your boss care if you posted 15 times a day? I mean, between reading the site and posting the time spent definitely adds up. Not to call anyone out but how in the world does DD have 85K posts? That's just damn near unfathomable to me. I could post for the next 50 years and not have that high of a post count. Does he work for himself? If not, surely his boss would catch him on here posting a few times a day.
I think he owns his own company and maybe works from home? He likes to brag that he has other people to do all the work while he posts on cf. Like someone else said, I just have CF open as one of many windows on my work desktop. Do some work, take a break and post, do some more work, and so on. Post more during the slow times of the year, less during the busy times. I've been doing it this way for so long it almost feels like CF is a part of my job. My work doesn't suffer at all and my boss doesn't care about anything except my work. And 99.99999% of my posts are Monday through Friday between 7 and 4. Don't really have time to surf or post from home. Especially lately.
I like this place, I check in about 3-4 times a day. Some people just like posting on forums more than others I guess.
You're assuming all these people, myself included, sit on their computers for 24 hrs looking at clutchfans.net and nothing else. It's not that difficult to get a lot of posts if you know how to scan through topics/threads/posts and can type fairly quickly. I can get in 10 posts in a day throughout the day or in 30 mins and not post again that day. Also, a lot of people spend the same amount of time here ,but don't post as much, so their post count isn't always a good way to gauge their time here, yourself included. There's also ways to fit in posting or just being on the site without sacrificing other stuff in your life. A lot of people have internet access at work and work sometimes lags. Not like you can leave, so what's wrong with being on clutchfans? Others do it while in class. Heck, i do it while eating also. It's called multi-tasking. Some are better at it than others... Having internet access ony our phone makes it even easier and nowadays a computer is always nearby. People kill time in different ways, if you think about it. Maybe you talk with your co-worker or friend or whoever, some people do it online. Also, people move at different speeds. If you move and do things more quickly, you'll have more free time.
Some people just love the interwebz and anything that comes with it. I've been here for quite some time and have around 3k posts, but I see what you're saying on seeing people post in every thread. I just dont have the patience to read every forum, much less every thread.
