If I see someone with a Confederate flag flying, especially here in the Northeast/Rust Belt, I just automatically assume that the person with the flag is a low IQ, racist moron.

    But that's just me.

My ancestors fought for the Confederate army way back in the day, and I still feel this way.

You can fly whichever flag you choose, THIS IS MURICA (U.S.A)!!! This is the beauty of living in the greatest country on earth, where there is freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom to bear arms etc (Bill of Rights). I however choose to fly the American Flag to honor the country that gives me these freedoms! I personally think that flying a different flag divides us instead of unites us as a country! Just my opinion ... let the stoning begin.

FYI ... I'm a middle age Mexican-American, and proud of it!

Why do we care how people decorate their car's interior?

Hmm...I respected you a lot more before I knew you owned a PT Cruiser.

But seriously, I love the fact that we all have cultural celebrations here in Texas, think: Irish, Italian, German, Czech, Pole, Scandanavian, etc...

I also love the fact that we have celebrations for every other ethnicity, from South America to South Asia and all points in-between. I wouldn't trade growing up in Houston for anything.

I was 16 and it was my mom's old Cruiser or nothing.

The AC didn't work well, the engine constantly overheated, and it got shockingly bad gas mileage... but I got everything out that the car had to give, which was about 120K miles.

Well 30 years ago, it was our High School flag at Robert E. Lee High School in Baytown - but times change, and the flag is now probably where it should have been even then, associated with slavery and a dire time in our countries history.

Maybe some people just don't want to grow up, this generation will die out and it will fade further into the background.

Naw, its a small 2x3 in flag that you use a suction thingy to keep up. Decoration type thingy. I really didnt think it was a big thing and this incident caught me by surprise.

The person that is offended by a cuba flag hanging on the mirror probably themselves have an A&M or UT vanity license plate along with a Texans sticker. Irony.

IMO the only time it's acceptable to fly a Confederate flag is if you are in Oxford, Mississippi on game day. No other scenario is really acceptable.

Technically, they did. Not a very PC fanbase though, they don't really care that some people get upset about it.

Personally I don't care one way or the other, Ole Miss still using the Confederate flag is less offensive to me than the Cubs being in the World Series.

I don't get the confederate flag thing at all. Otherwise it makes no sense to care what flag someone is hanging in their car. People are stupid.

Yeah. I was just about to say this is pretty analogous to someone moving to a new city and repping their old city. And then I realized people were hateful idiots and probably would have the same response to that as someone displaying a flag of another country.
