When your president is more popular in a foreign country than he is at home, he's done something wrong.

That's the silliest thing I've ever heard.

I'm not sure if that perfectly describes Bush. But it describes Reagan.

I love this speech by Reagan the night he ordered the airstrikes on Libya because of Gaddafi sponsoring terrorism which killed American service men in Germany. Reagan said he warned Gaddafi that if he sponsors terrorism, he will respond and he said he wasn't bluffing. He meant it. He said he would do it again if necessary. Such a badass speech.

But of course Reagan sold arms to Iran, and Obama helped drive Gaddafi from power. So one definitely took action, and one talked about it. I'm not saying that Reagan was wrong in how he dealt with Libya just that when comparing the two it isn't like Gaddafi was able to pull anything over on the U.S.

I'm not sure I understand what you are saying. Can you expand a bit?

You are right though BMD... It is silly. It is silly and irrational that millions believe in some magic sky god and that sky god made a certain group of people "the chosen race" and now those millions believe it's their godly duty to make sure no one should critisize Israel.

The original statement was that Bush was stronger in foreign policy than Obama and wouldn't have let numerous of other nations policies go into effect.

Then Reagan was brought up, and his tough talk was held up as something that he would have followed through on. I wasn't sure if it was a continuation of how much stronger he was than Obama.

I was merely pointing out that Regan did sell arms to Iran, and did talk tough on Libya. But it was Obama that helped bring down Kaddafi, and managed to get the Russians to do exactly what he wanted to have them do in regards to Syria, so it isn't like he's been soft in that department.

No, it's silly because it has nothing to do with that.

It has to do with Israel being an ally of the United States.

There are geo-political advantages to having Israel on the side of the United States in the Middle East.

It has nothing to do with Bush thinking the Jewish people are the "chosen race of God" or whatever non-sense you were spewing.

So what is your overall point? That Obama is not afraid to use force and his foreign policy is strong, whereas Reagan was soft?

By the way... because I posted a video of Reagan saying I liked that particular speech means he's my idol? I just liked the speech.

That shows to me you are very defensive for some reason.

Just that Obama isn't weak in foreign policy as was originally suggested.

The OP asked an interesting question that has been glossed over. The question isn't what is YOUR opinion about how Bush/Obama handled the middle east. Its how do Israelis view us?

Israelis loved Bush. He made his position very clear and never wavered in his support for Israel.

Obama has been very wishy washy and Israelis are worried.

Interesting. I didn't get my cut. I wonder who I should call. I should check with my other Jewish friends and family to see if they got their check...since, you know, the Jews did that.
