I was a youtube guru. I couldn't stand how Battier was playing, I ****ing hated him that I decided to find a forum to rant on him. I saw Tmac's prime wasted with a garbage cast.
We doing this again? (not the only thread to ask the question.. I missed this one) During the spring before The Summer of Francis, I was looking for stuff about the Rockets and stumbled across ClutchCity.com (which this place once was). I lurked for a long time and finally joined after deciding that Behad and Mango would probably not kill me. The rest, as they say, is history. I'm just sorry I didn't join when Clutch did the big name change. For a brief time there, many folks, including this lurker, were scared to death that the BBS had died for some reason we might never know. Happily, that wasn't the case.
My brother in law is a Rockets fan and told me about this site. He doesn't post hardly ever and I doubt even lurks on this forum anymore. His name was PAYASO. Anyhow, I found this forum thanks to him and use this site as my reddit filter where I can see the latest and greatest of the internet that was cool 2 weeks ago. I found this forum around the time it came up. Registered a username around the time Yao was drafted. I got excited to see the era of ISO ball hopefully come to an end.
I heard of Clutchcity.com and the changing of the name, but I didn't signup. One day, I felt signing up because I love my Rockets. When Morey signed Artest then I became very thoughtful.
2002 - 2003, I was living in China. Yao Ming was flowing out from my eyes and ears. If I can't lick them, join them. So I followed pruyen from Yaomingmania to this site. Ha Ha. Yeah, that guy Pruyen.  Registered later eventually.
A co-worker of mine showed it to me back around 2000. No idea what the guy's name was now, but we were working in the desktop support group at a place called Fugro on the southwest side of town. So if you're out there, thanks!
naturally, im a rockets fan was looking for rockets info.. came across clutchcity.net been frequenting this site since 1999, my first memory was the pajama theme and a picture of scottie pippen.. couldnt even lurk the board because IIRC you had to donate to register on the board. well i was 14 years old at the time and didnt have a CC or PayPal.. i do remember time to time the board be open to lurk..
Don't remember how I found the site, I think I was looking for offseason rumors in summer 2006 and lurked for a while. Rox fan since my first live game in the Summitt against Barkley's Suns in '93. I was hooked: Box Score 2/25/93
I use to be on the ESPN boards when some rocket fan was just bashing CF, It had its own thread for a while on the main NBA page boards that got real popular. This was years ago.
There was another site in 1996 that was the best source for Rockets news... I forget what the name of it was. Does anyone remember? Something like "Jimmy's Great Rockets Page!" Anyway, that Rockets site put up a link to Clutch's site. That original ClutchCity site used to be on a college server, and then I remember the forums getting so big that Clutch decided to buy his own domain name.
For me I found Clutchcity.com back in the 90's during the 97 playoff run. I was living in Singapore at the time and starving for Rockets material. I am not sure if I was referred to the site from one of the alt.sports sites or from a websearch, that would've been Yahoo or Excite back then since "Googling" wasn't a word yet. (man does that make me feel old ) Lurked until about 2003 and actually started to participate in full thanks to the D&D after I quit the NYT news forums.
I just noticed your join date is 2007. Never realized that you started a new account rather than renaming your old one.
