or you copied your answer! back when the site first started i did a search for houston rockets and this popped up and there was like a rockets ring on geocities and I think i remember seeing it there too so i checked it out. back then all i had really to follow the rockets was like the newspaper small AP recaps so spending the 4 minutes to get on the internet (yay dialup) to read the recaps on www.clutchcity.com was worth it. i lurked on the bbs for the longest time and finally registered on christmas day 2001...the greatest christmas present ever
Back in the early 2000's there was an article in Sports Illustrated about this site. I looked it up & the rest is history.
Same for me. I've been attending this site since the 04-05 season but they didn't accept new members until '06. I was actually looking for Houston Rockets-related material since Rockets.com is slow to add new content and I found Clutchfans.
Ok. I was thinking. I remember posting here back during the Rocket's Championship Run. Which of course was Pre-Rivals. I was thinking maybe i imaged in. Fall '97 off a link at Marvin's Schubert's(sp?) Rocket page (does he have an account here?). Didn't start posting until summer '98 when Pippen/McDyess/KJ talk was all the rage. Up until that point I would run around and troll in Chicago Bulls fan page guest books.
I lurked for since 2005 then finally became a member in 08. I think It started right after the T-mac trade.
What brought you to Clutchfans? I just realized I've been on the site for 11 years. I had thought I started my first account (http://bbs.clutchfans.net/member.php?u=3878) in late 2003 but it was actually 2002. It's hard to believe it has been that long. I remember going to SaveOurRockets.com religiously. I remember how awful it was when the first arena vote failed and how bittersweet it was when Jeff shut the site down after the 2nd one passed. I can't remember the details but I know that it was from that site that I was directed to ClutchCity. I don't remember if SOR had its own forum or if it redirected here. I imagine the stories on how people ended up here have gotten cooler in recent years. What is yours?
A buddy of mine in my marketing class assumed I knew of it. I told him I did, then I immediately made an account.
I honestly don't remember. I know it was years before my actual join date. I think I tried joining around 2003 or so but there was no response to my application. I just lurked for years but decided to try again in 2010 and this time was accepted in. (tear) You guys like me...you really like me!
