Not quite my real name, but a version of my name... sort of... my Spanish prof came up with it. I guess it's as good as anything to use on the Internet.
Mine is from Greek Mythology. My brother and I used to play a lot of online games. We decided that we would use Castor and Pollux (they are actually the gemini twins not just the guys from Face-Off) and we just our favorite numbers at the end.
My name is Jack and I like the cartoon. ( I know.... I know.... I spelled it wrong ) Is their anyway I can change that ?
"Gascon" is a reference to Cyrano de Bergerac , which is my favorite play, my dream part, and the reason I became an actor. I have to use "PureGascon" for my internet purposes, as "Gascon" was taken. (go figure) There was nothing wrong with it, until that no-talent ass-clown in Beauty and the Beast started singing. "Office Space" reference for the very cool posters here............. His name was Gaston, not Gascon.
I got my name from the song Across 110th Street by Bobby Womack. I first heard it in the opning sequence of Quentin Tarantino's Jackie Brown. 110th Street is the "border" between Harlem from the upper East and West Sides of Manhattan. 110th street is the northern border of Central Park. I registered in March 2001, one month after I moved to Spanish Harlem, otherwise known as El Barrio. THat damn song stuck in my head for weeks........ "Across a- hundred- and- tenth street....."
It was a long and difficult struggle to come up with my "handle". I enventually decided on calling myself 'Za Rockets b*stard", or "ZRB" for short.
I collect British girls' boarding school stories from the pre-WWII period. My favourite series of books is by Scottish author Dorita Fairlie Bruce and is based around a girl character called Daphne Isabel Maitland, acronymically (is that a word?) nicknamed Dimsie. If you ever see another dimsie online anywhere, it's probably me. With minor variations, I use it all the time.
My name is one that I use quite often in conjunction with my first name because it sounds pretty. It does not mean that I am high maintenance or spoiled, although I am a little high maintenance. It's really because I'm still very much a little girl at heart. I was always a very dainty, girly-girl growing up. I still love Disney, especially Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty. I would really like to live out my little fantasy world. I'm still working on it but I already have my knight on a white horse (Lynus and his white mustang).
when my mind mind fades during a class lecture, I will doodle my initials in cursive. so , I get hooked writing JBII, JBII, JBII. As a result I have perfected that signature. Man, it looks really good. On a Maddenmania forum, I'm JBIITexans at Astros Connection, I'm JBIIAstros At Lakersground.net forum, I'm.....JBIILak......hell no.....JBIIRockets At Hornfans. com I was JBIILonghorns.
Back in the clutchcity.com days (man, doesn't that seem like forever ago now?) my handle was Astro The Rocket. I just dropped the 'The' and voila, AstroRocket.
I'm not that grey really. I have a few premature ones, and I used to be a VANCOUVER Grizzlies fan. When Memphis changes their name it'll be a reminder of days gone by … sniff.
I recall hearing "Robo McFist" as a made up toy on a TV show a while back. It stuck, and when I played Diablo (One), I used a whole series of that name - Robo McFist, Hobo McFist, and I guess Iron McFist just stuck.
I was called Stupid Moniker, but Will said he was tired of seeing names like Stupid Moniker after "the bet" so I changed back to Hydra. Hydra because I like fantasy crap and it was a kind of Rocket in this video game called Desert Strike.
i guess since i go to the University of North Texas, UNT was natural. and i was going to graduate in 2003 but did the god ol' changing of majors to push me back a year.
The Hydra is the standard 76mm rocket used by the US Army and the USAF. Particularly on the Apache attack helos... Every time I've seen your posts, that's always popped up in the back of my mind. Now I know why.
