The funniest part is how while they are freaking out and calling everyone idiots and racists they are patting themselves on the back for how graciously they are accepting defeat. LOL, I mean, I'm not happy about the election result but the reaction from the left is high comedy.

I think more than half are racist. Everyone is a little racist. The extent to which you are racist depends on how crazy and angry you are.

Everyone who voted Trump is sad because they are average folks who never amounted to anything. They had great expectations in life and ended up having average jobs and cars, with average kids. They get sad as they grow older and they choose to be angry instead and blame foreigners because they believe they are competition for the high-skilled jobs.

Trump winning doesn't change anything. You will still be posting your hate in the D&D next year and no one will care.

The only ones who benefit are the people well above the 400k tax bracket. Pretty much the millionaires get richer when Republicans take the white house. You got used, and he sold you bs that he can't deliver.

No one has ever 'polled' me, but I don't answer the landline at all

    Lynch Mob mentality
49% of eligible voters did not vote

a motivated minority will beat a complacent majority

You literally bashed an entire segment of the country with a single brush, and then tell someone that they'll go back to posting their hatred. Of the two, I think it is clear which one is posting hatred.

I'm not racist, I just despise ignorant people... and this is literally one of the most ignorant things I've ever read on ClutchFans, which is saying a lot. CONGRATULATIONS! I do

No it isn't. The implications for climate change, health care, The Supreme Court/Citizens United, Rowe V Wade, and gerrymandering make this a watershed event for a generation.

Well maintaining the conservative edge in the Supreme Court is a good thing, climate change is a non-issue IMO (those who preach that religion already said that it's too late.....if it's too late why bankrupt the country?), not doubling down on the already failed Obamacare is a good thing, and I doubt Roe vs Wade is in any danger.

Of course that's beside the point, I was talking about how those on the left are patting themselves on the back about how well they are handling this loss at the same time they are flipping out and spewing bile directed at everyone.

The bile is appropriate, the man won The POTUS having never uttered an intelligible sentence. It's a setback for civilization.

Agreed. The methodology in most of the polls were simply antiquated. And I also think that the "stealth vote" played a big role...it's tough to get a good read on them, since they prefer to keep quiet about their politics. Even if pollsters make adjustments for future elections, I think people's faith in polling may be permanently damaged.

On a side note, I also wouldn't be surprised if more than a few well-known people publicly "supported" Hillary for PR purposes...but in the privacy of that voting booth pushed the Trump button.

Besides the actual results, this is the most shocking thing about last night. The election was such a circus that I figured voter turnout would be in record numbers.

I guess people are more interested in winning an argument on the internet/facebook than they are in winning an election.

49% of eligible voters did not vote, saying something in a poll is one thing actually going to the polls is another apparently.

I didn't vote for Trump... but you're wrong. Democracy won. Our system worked, you just don't like the outcome.

I love the outcome. Finally people will stop talking about this stupid election. I am here celebrating too. Trump supporters are loud and obnoxious and they made this election season so annoying.

You think I care about that ugly cow, Hillary or that hippie who wants to charge me more taxes for kids drifting through life, so they can get a free college education and a worthless degree? This election was a joke.

voter enthusiasm is measured in polls. you looked at the wrong polls. IBD/TIPP has been the most accurate pollster over the past 4 presidential elections and they had trump at +2%.

This is correct, and sadly for Liberals - was not covered by MSNBC or CNN. Had they known that the media was making them complacent, they might just have been more motivated. Meanwhile it was covered by Fox News and Drudge, and the turnout proves which side was more motivated.

How are there people who have the opinion that people are not racist? Just because me and you are not racist does not mean others arent....2015/2016 prove otherwise....

If i say my opinion is a good portion of people are racist then why does that offend people?

If she's wins the popular vote (I just checked; she currently has the lead), then no, that's not entirely true: our version of democracy - which Trump and his supporters decried repeatedly was corrupt - won.

I'm not crying foul, btw- it is what it is. If a candidate as repugnant as Trump can't get minorities, women, immigrants, LBGT, liberals galvanized to turn out in record numbers - I have no sympathy for their plight. As an affluent white male who, barring a (not entirely out of the question) nuclear war, will not only likely be unimpaired but benefit, I did my part; I voted against my best interests on many fronts because I believe we should have a government that provides everyone an opportunity to succeed to some degree.

But when I hear Trump did better with Latinos than Romney, a group he has repeatedly insulted, vilified and threatened... You sleep in the bed you make, and all...

I think polling errors have to do a lot with "shy voters". There were a lot of silent Trump supports who didn't participate in polls because of the stigma.

    It's quite simple.

Trump fans didn't come out to poll for fear of being labeled deranged individuals. They let their voting count when it mattered most.
