How did McHale become so untouchable on Clutch?

Felton is hurt but when healthy he is better. Bev is either the worst or bottom 2-3 at best.

I like Bev and he deserves to develop but poor coaching makes him do too much too soon. Bev is not ready to start. He is ready to play as a defensive specialist and a high energy guy off the bench.

If McHale started Brooks and used Lin as the 6th man you would never hear a word out of me about poor coaching.

Brooks is a NBA caliber starting PG. Bev is not YET. He'll get there in a few years.

I felt that a better coach would have been able to make the TT line up work or would have fixed our defense without the tt

This is what i was about to ask. or is it just is oh so valuable unsupported opinion

I agree that in the individual sense bev doesn't cost us wins. But when you have harden out there as the only guy on the perimeter that can create for himself and others effectively it bogs down the offense which ultimately force us to play catch up or we see to much harden dominating the ball and everyone watching and the iso's which can cost us wins. Also bevs outside shooting hasn't been as advertised nor has his defense to be honest.

yes some of his fans thought he was a star. I know someone who said he had top 10pg material i kid you not. And others thought he outplayed Lin who I think we can all agree is above average. Nobody really knows what bev is because of a total absence of sample and yet i remember a lot of people who were totally confident in him as a starter.

Once again you are proving the OPs point. This isn't about lin to the OP. He is ok w/ Lin as the 6th man and brooks as a starter. he just doesn't think bev should be starting. Which is an entirely valid point to have. You on the other hand dismissing him as a pro-lin anti everyone poster is the one with the actual pointless agenda. Which was the OP's point from the beginning.

I would take bev over felton, I thnk Bev is the better player. More upside, younger, stays in shape etc.

You do realize he is a pass first PG who went out of his way to feed Tyson Chandler the ball in the paint and Asik last season.

That Dream said the Howard/Lin pnr is deadly.

You also realize Lin takes like 10-11 spg and isn't a volume shooter like Harden.

This is the starting post in this thread.

But I guess OP is totally not making this about Lin.

McHale did not have to convince himself it would not work, he had to convince the FO.

And do not run to far with that. For last season here are the Rockets offensive PER versus their opponents offensive PER by the PG, SG, SF, PL and center positions:

Seems like the SG position had the best defense of any Rocket position last season. An indictment against our backup centers is how I read that.

Actually it's a why is McHale immune from attack thread.

Forget Lin why aren't we on McHale for not starting Brooks over Bev.

For playing Harden 39.3 mpg when he has been hurt since training camp.

Why he is so bad at play calling after a time out?

Why his defensive schemes are so poor?

Why he doesn't make Parsons and Harden play more D?

Why he is bad at making adjustments?

I just want to know why McHale was treated normally when he joined the Rockets and fans can critic him but now they can't anymore simply because of Jeremy.

Mchale is far from untouchable. There are plenty of post talking about his flaws. Our 2nd star is here because of him, and through all of our flaws and his flaws we had a good record this year and are winning games now.

24 points on 16 shots is volume shooting? Why are all your posts tearing down everyone except for one person who is conspicuously missing?

I was going to ask you to look up volume shooting, but then I realized you wouldn't care about the f*** it actually means and would subsequently argue with me until I lost interest. Seems to be your Modus Operandi.

I already know the answer to this, but I'll ask anyway: Can our coach do anything to make you believe he is above average/good?

The entire point of the thread was to say that McHale should be critiqued regardless of whether Lin is on the team or not. Its about Mchale mainly and that he isn't handling the PG situation well. OP also said this... So really it isn't all about Lin at all. But the fact that everyone assumes it is about Lin is kind of the OP's point. Get what I am saying?

    No...

The premise of this thread is McHale should not be considered "untouchable" (which is blatantly false concerning all the posts asking to fire McHale).

And OP believes McHale is "untouchable" on this board because the OP claims people dislike Jeremy Lin.

I think my point about you arguing a point until I get sick of it was summarily proven with this post. Durant's only getting 28.5 points on 24.5 attempts by your math - that chucker.

Great coaching job by McHale tonight, defeating the Hawks with a 3rd string point guard and Harden/Lin hurt.
