how about letting Collier prove himself before jumping all over him? His first two years he had trouble getting started due to injuries....that's behind him and he has shown signs of being a good player in the preseason. The thing that gets me is that when Collier was a freshman at Indiana he tore Brad Miller up (who was a junior at the time). I can't see why he hasn't developed into at least that type of player...maybe he will. We'll see what he's made of soon enough. If he doesn't fill the Rockets' needs, he'll be on another team.

I think J.C. is SOLID and he does serve as an insurance for Yao Ming!!! And by the way, Cato has the flu bug! Anyway, J.C. has some range and can bang if needed, also, has decent quickness 4 a big man! Just GIVE him a chance 2 prove himself !
I don't know about you but I wouldn't want Claxton, Harvey or Madsen. Stevenson has shown nothing to this point but he might turn out to be decent. In case you didn't know, not every pick works out. Rudy and CD saw a 7 footer with 3 point range who could spread the defense and open the lane for Mobley and Francis. It didn't work out that way but it was a good thought. If I had my choice, this team would have taken Magloire but instead we have Collier. While I'm no fan of Jason, I don't think of him as poorly as you do. He's been banged up the whole time he's been a Rocket and has gotten hardly any PT. He has good rebounding and scoring numbers per 48 minutes and his shot is better than what he has shown. Any 7 footer who can rebound and shot deserves to be in the NBA regardless of who was selected behind him.

1) Claxton just brought Philly a first round draft choice and Madsen has played decently for the Fakers. Collier probably couldn't get us a 2nd rounder at this point and has not played decently by anyone's standards. 2) I acknowledge that every draft pick is not guaranteed to workout. But keeping him at this point simply because he already has a contract doesn't make much sense to me. We could fill that roster spot with a player who can actually contribute and won't be perpetually injured and unable to even suit up.
Only cause San Atonio is stupid. Man they're supporting cast blows. As for Madsen...I wouldn't call his play any better than Collier's. I really feel like Collier can be a decent role player. He's a big body who can shot and board. Goodrich is not better than him and I don't see another player avaiable for the Rockets with his size. Collier is injury insurance and I hope he can produce tonight cause he'll get the PT at PF behind Eddie.
Collier is not a 3rd-string center. The Rockets routinely play small ball in lieu of having to play him. I would put Glen Rice at center and try to spread the other team out before putting Collier there.
Tonight vs. Indiana, Collier is proving that he indeed IS a third string center in the Filipino leagues. He SUCKS. Let Ming come in and get 3 fouls, this is just unwatchable.
Collier added to his "wonderful" legacy again tonight..........what a joke of a player. I went to the game in Indy tonight and the group of Indy fans behind me laughed when we brought him in the game. He of course did nothing to prove them wrong.
LMAO, I didn't even think about it till now, how it seemed that he couldn't find anyone to pass it to during the last few seconds. So he just launched it from one end to the other, as if he was passing it to a Pacer fan in the crowd.
Don, Oscar was cut because Rudy is dumb. I don't care how good Hawkins looked in practice. Oscar did it in a game. Collier received the same run as Ming. How crazy is Rudy?! Rudy never made Collier lose weight or better yet, try not trading for him at all. The Rox didn't pick up his option for a fourth year. Why is he still in a uniform. Ridiculous!
Big, Trusting Rudy's eyesight sober is risky at best. Torres is a better player than Mickeal and Hawkins. He started some games last year. Rudy is a bad evaluator of talent. Les is paying way too much for the yes men that are scouting or coaching. They can't all agree with Rudy or CD on the bad moves they make. Robert Barr&Bill Berry? Gone.
