Not dangerous at all. The only dilemma is a moral one. Personally I don't have a problem downloading movies, shows, games, music, etc. cuz I go back and choose to support the one's that actually deserve it. A lot of people have a problem breaking the arbitrary rules of our society though, if that's you then don't torrent. But the police are not gonna come knockin on your door cuz you downloaded some movies or music, or at least they haven't come knockin on mine yet and I've been doing it for years and years, since the old school Napster days, without making any attempt to hide my IP or cover my tracks. Of course it's possible I'm just a total amoral ****, if someone felt that way about my downloading stuff for free I wouldn't fault them at all.
Hmmm, seems like comcast is the only copy that I know of that actually sends out those warning emails. A friend of mine received an email for torrenting an episode of GoT. Anyone else get emails from a company other than comcast?
To each his own, but stealing copyrighted material is not an "arbitrary rule of society". It's against the law.
Only under the realm of artificial man's law. It is still allowed under my belief system. I answer to a higher power.
what does the fact that you're downloading from a chinese website matter unless you actually live in china? Downloading from that website is still illegal in the states..
i blame the csn debacle for my addiction to downloading. before they blacked out their games, I was never into downloading. Crap, I was still using photoshop elements from 2002. But then, I started downloading one of those rockets torrents that one of our members so kindly posted. sorry commissar stern and the rest of you corporate yahoos.
Pay for what you want to watch. Redbox is $1.20 per movie. Netflix is $8/month. Use HuluPlus or Amazon Prime. Wait for the movie to be $5 or less. I'm not saying I've never Torrented, or used a P2P program, but it has been a while.
Discontinue torrenting if any of the following occurs: itching vertigo dizziness tingling in extremities uncontrollable flatulence loss of balance or coordination slurred speech temporary blindness profuse sweating heart palpitations anal bleeding
Here's my problem with that: what if the anal bleeding was caused because you had itching down there and you couldn't help but scratch? Were that the case, you might think torrenting is the problem when in reality it's just a good ol' fashioned STI in your butt, and that could have been caused by god knows what. I think those eager to villify torrenting are merely trying to deflect attention from their wild sexual lifestyle. Indeed, a PEW survey showed that those who are anti torrent often have one night "business trips" to small towns in Mexico.
