I would say he doesn't recieve the hype because:
    1) 6'0 PG on a team that had no nationally televised games.
    2) He's on the Rockets, a team that doesn't get any of the respect they deserve.
    3) He isn't as flashy as some out there.
    4) He doesn't have a criminal record.

The one positive out of this is the Most Improved Player award, so at least there is some hype.

Brooks had plenty of hype when he was torching the Lakers during the playoffs. He just needs more exposure.

I have had some critics about AB. Things he does that are not good for the team like get personal with other guards and start jacking up shots and getting angry with refs every time he drives and get fouled with no call. He stands there for too long arguing with refs while his defender runs the other way. I think with more time and age these bad habits will go away. For sure, Martin has opened up the court for him and less double teams so he is making less turnovers. When AB is hot he is HOT!

"I mean where did Brooks come from? Is he like the best player in the NBA along with Lebron and Kobe? Why do people just go off on us? This is crazy "

Wait this is his second full year starting isn't it? But, not enough wins and no national TV exposure. Let's see if the same numbers are there once Yao returns. And of course Paul, D-Will, Nash, etc. in the West overshadow him. He is literally and figuratively just too small.

Nice grasp on the English language BTW. I'm hoping it is not the OPs first language.

Well, at this point I suppose we could say he's had a whole year starting, but not 2 full seasons. He started once Skip was traded at last year's deadline. That was last year, right?? Crap, some of you people are messing me up with your hodge podge ass facts. That means facts that you pulled out of your ass. Ass Facts run rampant these days!

What makes you think AB wouldn't be a 20 point scorer once Yao comes back? I mean who knows if Yao would even be effective. Plus it would take him months to get back into NBA game shape so Brooks and Martin would still be the leading scorer.

Most likely Yao would probably be a 15 ppg guy and 6-8 rebounds. His presence would help Brooks and Martin even more and improve their scoring. There is no way a surging young player like Brooks going to move aside for a declining injury prone player like Yao. This is becoming Brooks team now. Yao had his days and now he would be more of a great supporting cast player. Yao Ming is no longer our main player.

All moot points. Brooks is averaging 20 ppg right now with a green light.

Next year, Yao will be back, and that means everyone (especially Brooks & Martin since they shoot the most) will get fewer touches. Couple that with the fact that the tempo will slow down with Yao on the court, and it makes sense that Brooks' numbers will go down (but hopefully not his percentages).

I could realistically see him going down to 16-17ppg at 46%/42%. I mean, his numbers went up with Martin, and he won't be going anywhere. He should get even more open looks and try to create something out of nothing alot less. His efficiency will go up I think.
