Hey why don't we produce a reality film short about Henry Earl. We could get some advertiser to pony up a 10,000 prize to Henry if he could stop drinking for a month. During the first week or so he could be in treatment facility and then for the next 3 weeks we could document his life and struggles. He looks like a hell of a personality, and could be the biggest alcholic in America.

Oprah and all the newsmagazines would eat this up.

even though I know this will never happen

Somebody quick think of a title for this Oscar worthy piece!

Don't be surprised to see Henry Earl on the tonight show or some such. The stories he could tell, if his alcohol damaged brain would permit.

    Dude needs an agent.

Some of those newmagazine stories have a far less substance.

Well, he wasn't always drunk. I want to know what drove him to this life long bender. That story could be epic. Of course, it could also be boring, I don't think there's an inbetween though.

Samuel L. Jackson "The Story of Henry Earl"
    Apr 7, 2005

HOLLYWOOD- Actor Samuel L. Jackson has been cast in the lead role in the much anticipated "The Story of Henry Earl", it has been reported.

The Oscar winning short film by Clutchfans Productions inspired the feature film about alcholic turned comic book mogul Henry Earl.

The newspaper said he had been competing with fellow actor Don King

However, King had told casting agents he did not want the job as he feared it might limit his career.

Other names mentioned at different times in connection with the Earl role have included Mickey Roarke, Tom Sizemore, Daniel Baldwin and Tara Reid.

Sad that this guy is a hopeless drunk, or that we're having so much fun with it? :D

His condition, I mean you would think somebody would intervene. I know that for a person needs to actually want help to be help but I still think family or local officials could get involved some how.

I could see a spin off of this called "Henry Earl vs. Bubb Rubb" You could have Samuel L. reprise his role and then get Ice Cube to play Bubb. Some of the dialogtue would be as follows:

Bubb: "It's like WOO WOO, yous drunk"
Henry; "But only in da mornin, Aw who da hell my kiddin, I's drunk all da time"

:) Anyone think that Nick Nolte would have trouble getting "into his character" in this movie? versus being too much into his character? :)

Looking at his arrest record, it kinda screams out to me that he's doing it just to have a roof and 3 squares. But instead of just getting drunk and calling the cops, why don't he do something big that'll land him in jail for more than just a few days time (like a few years maybe)?

I might be drunk, but I'll still KICK yo' ASS.

The number of arrests are ridiculous, but the fact that there exists someone who prefers to be a homeless, alcoholic leech and sodomizer is pretty sad.
