Theoretically yes, realistically, it is hard to achieve as usually how you said it is not always how people would take it, so it is not achievable. For example, 1) somebody say, "fire McHale!", if this person is registered in 2011, then that is taken as a team orientated frustrated fan. But if this person is registered in 2012,2013, then that is taken as a dissing our dear coach from knee jerking LOF.

You are a good citizen that care the team. But if you say: Lin should play more PG, you are a fan only care one player over the team. (it really does not matter you say this in a winning game or a loosing game). 3) if you say: Garcia sucks. You are a team orientated frustrated fan. But if you say Beverley sucks or AB is ball hogging, you are a LOF that dissing our rocket player to support your own player. 4) if you call James Haren, if you registered before 2011, you are a team orientated frustrated fan, if you registered in 2012, 2013, that's totally not tolerable behavior. So, I mean, how do you recommend how everybody should behave? should they check their registration date before say things? or claim I'm a long term Rocket fan before they say anything good about Lin, and claim I love Lin before they say anything bad about Jeremy? Oh wait, I think people already doing that....... Anyway, as people has claimed, this is a site Clutch started, so how the culture this site is really depends on how the own would like to nurture it, thus it really does not matter how we think, you could tolerate, you stay, you couldn't, you go........
add an option to display avatars, maybe moving gifs in each user avatar. this can add some color and life to the threads.
the OP is talking about the info, not about the design. Also do you think spurstalk and lakersground is better than this site, just because they have avatars?? I prefer a clean site like this, easier to load and read without the avatars.
I don't get how 2013 is associated with Lin. Lin joined in the summer of 2012. In the McHale thread, I get accused of being a Lin fan, when I joined in October of 2013. Do people not know how to count? Howard joined in the summer of 2013 and brought fans, but no everything has to be about Lin. Uh oh, did I admit to being a Howard fan? Is being a fan of one player not allowed any more?
this forum is clearly better, if you consider the level of the posts. personally I think that an avatar will add some color. that's my opinion. dosent have to be a moving gif, but a moving gif of cluch play in the avatar will be a nice addition. even a regular picture in the avatar, of your favourite player picture, or the entire team, would be nice.
I think the GARM is pretty great, especially if you make good use of the ignore list and self-restraint. Still working on the latter, but you know.
This site is truly one of the best around. The only thing I would like to see is some posters limit the amount of their posts. There are a few posters that seem to post way too much at times.
Best idea on the thread hands down....sometimes its had to seperate the trolls from the sincere so it would be nice to be able to see that.
The easiet way to differentiate yourself is to build a reputation as a rockets fan. Not that hard really.
My general advice (not specifically to you): First, don't blast the coach and other players over and over again because Lin isn't getting enough of the spotlight. Don't allege, as if it is fact, that others within the organization are against him. That really annoys many of us who want to cheer for the team. And second, don't keep making claims that the majority of people on this board, or its owner, has something against Lin when they speak out against people doing the first thing. It is true that there are some who have taken a special interest in convincing people that Lin is nothing special and shouldn't be given any extra role on the team. A few may in fact have a personal grudge against him, which would be deplorable in my view because Lin is one of the more likable guys in the league. But I think most are doing this more to defend how their favorite team is dealing with him and in frustration against all the allegations made by his fan-base, not due to any personal animosity towards the player himself. I think Lin fans should keep this in mind.
