**** it, we'll take Pierce too. Big ball. C-Asik PF-KG SF-Parsons SG-Pierce PG-Harden Bench - Bev/Garcia/Dalembert/Del-Fine-O
KG is one of the greatest power forwards of all time -- and he is leading the 2013 playoffs in rebounds (14 rebounds per game in his 6 games). I want him for a year or two no doubt - it takes fire to do that at his age
No trade clause. Bleed Celtics green. Almost retired. Not even his relationship with Kevin McHale can bring him here. Forget about it. Not happening.
Even if he is a grandpa or great grand pappy, what is there not to like about his current abilities ??? D Fensive Intensity & Focus is Contagious. The more of these players you have, the better your Team D gets. The Rox would likely need some more pieces to really go over the top but this would be a great start. Worst case scenario, I see him having as much of an impact as Ron Ron did for Houston. Best case, Sky is the limit... Incredibly, his near future still appears as Bright as the day he got drafted in 1995 !!!
Did you see the embrace between he and Rivers at the nend of the game the other day? It was like they will never see each other again. He is as good as gone.
Pierce may end up being waived by Boston, only $5 million of his salary next year is guaranteed. Maybe Boston would trade KG for TRob, and then we could sign Pierce with the remainder of our cap space. Package deal, of sorts.
you cant, he is going to Clippers with Rivers <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>My man @<a href="https://twitter.com/stephenasmith">stephenasmith</a> almost broke Twitter suggesting this Clippers-Celtics trade with Doc coming to L.A. as well. <a href="http://t.co/2lzoiPBMey" title="http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=ck3n43u">espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachi…</a></p>— Arash Markazi (@ArashMarkazi) <a href="https://twitter.com/ArashMarkazi/status/331447857372598272">May 6, 2013</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
During our 6 game playoff run we were barely losing all but one game. A few more points here and a few more rebounds there and we would be playing Memphis now. That season Ron helped get us to a game seven against the eventual champs the Lakers. If it were not for Yao going out, we would be celebrating 3 championships instead of two.
Guys, think of it this way. What do you think would happen if KG's attitude and personality was soaked in by this young team???
Harden and KG would spark us on both ends (Harden offensively, KG defensively) QB and MLB running our young team? I'd be all about that life
Why would we want a 37 year old guy on a team filled with early 20's players? KG does not make us a title contender, he just makes us a middle seed at best, and that only for a year or two. We need another star player who is actually in their prime.
Kevin Garnett really wouldn't be a good fit unless we expect to compete with Miami for the championship the next two immediate seasons. Garnett has a lot of veteran fire we need, but because old age claims everyone, he will be worthless in three years where Harden will peak.
