I agree with what you said. People who know very little about grammar always harp on the smallest errors. If all I had to worry about as a writer was making sure I don't put a comma in the wrong place, writing would be simple. There is a difference between school marm grammar and linguist grammar. In addition to expository writing and fiction.

The original poster seems like a guy that knows more about writing than say if office manager, which isn't saying a whole hell of a lot. It is just funny that he wants to "cash" in on it!

Well, the thing is that I write for 6-12 hours per day in some instances, and it's too much of a hassle to underline, bold, etc. in board-driven posts. But I stick by what I said- I'm too lazy of a message-board writer to follow every rule of grammar- not the obvious ones, just the minor stuff.

Anyway, back to the original poster, here are some sites to pursue:

    www.flexjobs.com

    www.ifreelance.com

    www.freelancehomewriters.com

    www.craigslist.org/wri

Well, the original poster would probably want to seek opportunities to edit student papers and things like that. When you start getting into technical writing, they want you to know the subject matter, as well.

Writing and editing every day can get tiring, let me tell you. The good thing is that 99.7% of the people are really great, hard-working individuals. Then, every once in a while, you get a message like the following when my project manager asked one of our clients to simply sign an authorization sheet for us to start work:

"If the DAN, wants anything else before completing the Cover Letter as requested, PLEASE REFUND MY MONEY. I HAVE NOTHING ELSE TO SAY ON THE MATTER. IF HE NOT UNDERSTAND THE BASIC PRINCIPLES OF A BUSINESS TRANSACTION WHEN MONEY IS EXCHANGED, THEN I DO NOT NEED TO BE DOING BUSINESS WITH THE LIKE OF HIM."

Wow. I did like the reference to me as "The Dan" as opposed to Dan. I think he was going for that Vito Corleone style.
