On the surface, if you break it down, the League Pass costs about $30+/month for roughly 6 months, which isn't too bad considering many of the useless household junks you would spend on anyway.

However, in the past, for a Dish Network (could be the same case for DirectTV) subscriber who doesn't care about the "regular" TV programs, you need to pay another $30+/mo for the "Top 60" in order to watch a dozen or so Rockets games that are shown on ESPN or TNT. I really like the flexibility of satellite TV, which gives me much greater freedom to choose from a variety of programming packages with no strings attached, as opposed to the evil Time Warner cable, which requires me to pay the "digital cable service" ($64+/mo in my area, insane!) first before I can think about having the "premium" or "specialty" stuff such as the LP.

Now thanks to the new LP Broadband this season, I don't have to spend additional $30+/mo just for the 10 Rockets games shown on ESPN/TNT.

I have League Pass on direct tv, so how do I access the League Pass broadband stuff on NBA.com? Does anyone know the information do I need to register for it and such?

I'm in the same boat right now too for the first time ever. Living in a dorm so can't get league pass this season, therefore I think my only option I can think of is finding a sports bar that has league pass and getting a fake ID so I can watch the Rockets game whilst drinking a beer.

I lived in Houston for 18 years and in Lubbock for the past 7. If you're a college student, Lubbock is definitely a fun place to be. If you want to raise a family by the time you reach your 30s, Lubbock is a very safe, great place to live.

When or if you graduate from Texas Tech, and you're single, you definitely want to be in Houston. If you are a live concert freak like I was in my 20s, you should be in Houston. If you absolutely have to see the Rockets in person more than a few times a year, live in Houston. If you seek employment in fields other than education, health care, manufacturing, finance, sales, and hospitality (particularly in the field of technology), don't live in Lubbock.

Big 12 sports, a college town atmosphere, great educational programs, and being away from a big city (which some find beneficial in their choice of colleges) are definite reasons to consider Tech.

Q: When does the NBA LEAGUE PASS go on sale?

I'm from Houston but now live in Colorado, and COMCAST cable said I have to get the LEAGUE PASS from the NBA.com site. And NBA.com told me to call COMCAST. Love how the sales reps don't seem to know. I figured that its just not available yet. Does that sound right? Is it too early yet still?

Was wondering when you guys who have bought the pass before were able to buy NBA LEAGUE PASS, how early? And how much did you pay?

    Thx
