I think he understands that. Regardless of the cap hit, the owner still has to pay the full $15m. Thunder owners have developed a reputation for being cheap.
Interesting. Ibaka for Asik, Jones, and #25 doesn't seem too unrealistic or an offer that wouldn't warrant consideration by both teams.
I hope this off season Morey ditches the win by Offense (mainly 3s) mentality and gets back to getting a strong Defensive minded team and that can score using mid range jumpers.
Still could use some veteran winners on the bench to play a few minutes here and there. So, I vote for Hakeem and MJ.
Okc made a SOLID move by locking up there PICK & POP big who also happens to be an elite rim protector to a (cap friendly $12,000,000) per year deal for 3 more years, his defensive awareness continues to improve and his jumper & 3pointer has been money this year. No reason for OKC to trade him until he’s an expiring contract and fear he won’t return.
I'l say put TJ morning /night in the weight room! Then we'll have a defender and third string offensive treat by next season!
Put yourself in Sam Presti's shoes and ask (1) What player on the Rockets would you exchange for Ibaka. If the answer was nobody, then proceed to question 2. (2) What two players on the Rockets are worth Ibaka? Consider Ibaka makes $12.5 million/yr for the next 3 seasons (compared to Harden's $16 million and Dwight's $22 million).
That would be a massive frontcourt presence if it did happen. I'm reading more about Ibaka. Very inspiring how he overcame some early tragedy through hoops to become what he is today.
pick 25 for ibaka i mean i realise he was taken pick 24 but morey is a good gm so we can make them forget that. right?
Asik would be great on that team but Ibaka is so good and getting better I don't know how you get them to let him go.
