Interesting. If AC is a centerpiece of a deal (typing noises), it looks like I can (more typing noises), it looks like I can get the following to work:

    AC + Maj + Ceb + Mo == HO + KC + WW + CR. Interesting.

Mourning, but I was of course, teasing.

It would be a dream to get rid of the Scottie Pippen (KC + WW + CR) players for cap.

Indeed. At this point, any deal that sends the Scottie Pippen legacy on his way for capspace (players on the last year of their contracts) is worth partying about.

I wonder if someone is foolish enough to taker our unwanted baggage, though.

I see it as unlikely that we would acquire Swift after Vancouver already seems to doubt SAR. I can see them trading ONE of those two players, but not both.

It seems to me that Cato almost HAS to be the player we're trading. He fits most accurately the description of IR, AND he really doesn't have any true defenders left on this board.

However, I'm at a complete loss as to who we'd be trading FOR. It would almost have to be a forward...

    1. CD said that was what the team wanted.
    2. Clutch said everyone would be happy. If it wasn't a forward, too many people would claim guard redundancy.

Outside of that, there are just too many variables. One note of caution: I'm expecting this deal to fall through. Last year, so many similar posts were made by Popeye, and we all got our hopes up a little too much. I'll be the first one to give a cheer if things DO work out... but some of you may want to tone down your expectations.

If we sucker Chicago into taking Cato off our hands (by holding hostage the first round pick option), then he immediately loses his base year status. If the trade to Chicago is one for one or one for none, Chicago can then trade him immediately without having to wait sixty days. They can then trade their number one pick to Vancover for SAR. Frankly, I would party in the streets if we could dump Cato and free up $5 million in cap space to go after Webber next summer.
Langhi would suffer and hangnail and go on the IR to activate Cato to trade him. This would free up a roster position to sign another player. This is where the final piece of the puzzle comes in, the "x" portion of the equation. The Rockets will sign the X-man, forward Xavier McDaniel.

Maybe we could dump Cato to create more cap space...then clone Hakeem...that way we'd have both an older and younger version and would be able to afford both...Is that what you meant? wait...now I m getting sleepy

    Everyone would be happy, ehh??

Well, I doubt everyone would be happy if Hakeem were traded, so I think it's safe to rule that out.

Would everyone be happy if Cato and/or Walt were traded along with their outrageous contracts?

Probably, assuming that the Rockets aquire player(s) with expiring contracts or a much needed piece to the team puzzle(ie. C/PF/SF).

At this point, I don't care about the player(s) we acquire. I want to see who it is we get rid of to open up more cap space. And most importantly, I just want SOMEHTING to happen. This trade speculation is like crack. I need a fix NOW!

Guys, this is getting bad. I usually don't post on these "speculation" threads. I prefer to wait and see what happens, but reading the thread is having a significant affect on me.

Last night I dreamt that we traded for Jamison. I sat around talking to Jamison abou the Rockets, etc. I can't remember any specifics anymore, as is usually the case with dreams, but I'll be damned if all this "talk" isn't screwing with my head.
