Although I am not a LOOOOOOG time member here I a Rocket fan since they got Samson I was a Troll before Clutch had us sign up to get in here

And I have to say his to your post

I have read many things you have posted before and THOUGHT you had some knowaladge of the Rockets BUT

I see you only think because you have been a member for much longer than most you THINK you have a grasp or a opion that other respect or want to read but let me say this to you as a newbie to a old timer

Your insite into the Rockets is not worth 2 cents you do not do much more that watch the game and post you have no considertion for anyone else other that what you saw when you were drunk and your post ....if they could be deleted before they were read would be by me and I will bet by many other on this here

So I say to you do some searching before you post and dont do it after you had your bud or your beer...

I agree with your assessment of his positive qualities, however he does have some weakness in the area of speed, quickness, and explosiveness. I think he looks like a great player, but how great? Can't quess that yet.

btw, what does most influencial player mean?

OMG...we're talking about how a rookie with only 20+ games being in the same league as Woods, MJ, Pele, Gretzky, Bonds and Rice??

HAHA...I do love that Yao gives us the opportunity to talk about this and not whether he's in the same league as Bradley and Smits.

To me, Hakeem is the greatest in Houston sports history and not because he won the first two ever championships in Houston history but how he did it. He took those two teams on his back and he probably had, IMO, the worst supporting cast of any championship team (in 1994, no doubt, in 1995, I like Clyde but at his age, he was no Kobe or Pippen), and the circumstances in which he had to bring those trophies home. If Yao were to win championships, he'd be judged on how he won them such as if he carried the team. It'd be great if Yao and Stevie share equal credit for bringing a championship home but that may hurt him in terms of his place in history because the truly great ones are seen as the one that personified the team. In ten years, when people think about the Rockets in 94 and 95, they think Hakeem and that's what makes him the greatest.

So, before we ask ourselves if Yao can be the greatest...let him win two championships first. Then, we'll argue who was better, Yao or Hakeem

    :)

In term of popularity among the fans; the world market in term of basketball; the number of championships he will win; the way he will (or will not) change the way basketball is played (remember the that isssue from ESPN magazine?); and his greatness in comparision to other great players.
