Honestly, this is going to be coming straight from left field: Joel Pryzbilla and Portland's #13 for Bobby Jackson and future 1st Rounder I don't know if it's a legal move to trade a future 1st Rounder for this year's 1st Rounder (I'm thinking it can be done) but this helps out both teams. Portland: -Gets rid of Pryzbilla's contract -Gets a future 1st Rounder so they're not going to be losing much -Gets an expiring contract -Frees up roster room for their 2nd Rounders and Rudy Houston: -Gets that much needed back up center that can actually move around and catch the ball for inside scoring -Picks up another 1st Rounder to solidify the depth and athleticism -At 13, they could pick up anyone near that slot that could help: Eric Gordon (could turn into a scoring machine) DJ Augustin (future starting PG?) Donte Green (a 2 guard we desperately need) -Then use #25 on the best available player...Douglas-Roberts, Hibbert, etc. I think this would be an excellent way to not only get some athleticism on the roster but also address some holes this team has (a quality back up center, a big 2 guard, solid rotation player)
Guessing we pick Greene at #25 and guessing we trade to #22 and pick Greene are two completely different guesses. You probably already knew that but just making sure.
I am not familiar with the candidates but I guess our GM will get another short guard. Any guard below 6'3 in the draft? Preferrably shooting over 40% at 3?
I really think if Hibbert is there, they'll take him. He can come in and play now not to mention Yao fragility, and he makes too much sense. They could just buy Portland pick for cash and maybe a consideration for next season.
If all of our target players are gone, I'll bet (hope) we gamble with the best big man that is left. Right? How that for having big crystal balls?
I won't even dare to predict what Morey will end up doing with the 25th pick, whether we make a selection then or trade the pick. But I really like Kyle Weaver as the sleeper of the second round. Considering his size, versatility on offense and strength on defense...he should draw interest if the Rockets make a move to swing a high second round selection.
I know I already voted R.Lopez at the 25th and I've voted for the Rockets to make a minor deal, but I'm saying don't be totally surprised if the Rockets drop out of the draft all together. Rockets trade the 25th for a future 1st round pick and then trade the 54th pick for a future 2nd rounder. I don't think the latter will happen though.
Dag nab it Clutch. That was my guess. Oh well. I'm gonna go for Chalmers at #25. Second choice if Chalmers is gone and we pick at 25 would be George Hill, provided Courtney Hall is already off the board.
Actually, I will go with: Rockets trade Battier and Hayes to GS Warriors for Al Harrington and the 14th pick.
