Thank god!! I thought maybe I was the only one... What am I missing here? ALl the popular shows on tv, i end up not liking them... And while I'm at it, I finally got around to seeing "The Royal Tenenbaums"(because of what I read here about it) ...what a bore! What the hell did you guys see in that? Oh well, I always thought I was weird...I guess this just confirms it..
Miss it bad. I see the reruns, but I wish they hadn't ended the show. Greatest sitcom ever, IMHO. My wife and I have friends (a couple) that hate it, and I've never understood it. Not that there's anything wrong with that!
How can you not like Seinfeld? Its the best TV show of all time. Maybe not as funny as Southpark for short periods of time during a show, but more consistent. rockets 2K- How could you not like Tenebaums??? Its Gold Jerry, Gold.
Hmmm...I honestly don't know. I have seen Seinfeld from time to time, I thought some were funny, but not enuff to be like yall are about it not being on anymore.. I miss The Family Guy like yall miss Seinfeld...BRING BACK STEWIE!! The way I decide what movies I want to see is too see which ones all the critics hate..then I know I'll like it. It's been proven time and time again.. Any TV shows I like don't seem to last long, the ones I can't stand seem to stay on forever(Friends, Raymond..etc) So go figger.. Nomar, It's not that I didn't really like it. It was hyped to me as funny, so I went into it expecting funny. I thought it was a quirky character driven show..I don't really know how to catagorize it.. I thought Hackman was pretty good..Paltrow and the Wilson boys were ok...never could stand Huston and Stiller... BTW,..are Owen Wilson and Luke Wilson related ?..they sure look like they are.. just curious...
Like Wes Anderson (director of RT and Rushmore) says in the liner notes of the Criterion Colleciton, "you either like my stuff or you don't" I can see how some folks wouldn't like RT, but I enjoy Wes Anderson's characters and quirkiness therefor, I thoroughly enjoyed RT and saw part of it again, last night.... (I own the DVD)
I suspected so...I just never got around to checkin it out Figgered it would be easier to just ask yall.... rockHEAD, I thought about it after I initially posted about it and realized that I didn't think it was a bad movie, I just didn't see why everyone was raving about it when I first saw it brought up here.. and somehow or another I mistakenly thought it was a funny ha-ha comedy...it had a few amusing moments..but for the most part I didn't find it very funny... but as a quirky, character-driven movie..it's ok..
