How would you rate Jerry's Stand Up vs his Show His show seems so much funnier. Honestly i would have never thought his show would have been so funny . . base on his Pre-Show stand up [I mean he was funny . . but not THAT funny] Rocket River
One of the things I miss most about Seinfeld is Elaine. She was unlike any other female character on television. Unlike most of the window-dressing women on sitcoms, she was just as integral to the show as the other three and she could be just as petty, vindictive, base and spiteful as they could be. They never really tried to pretty her up just because she was a female. She is one of my all time favorites. Classic Elaine moments: telling the priest that she and Puddy weren't married but were just "having a good time," conducting a "hard-target" search of her favorite contraceptive sponges, becoming the office skank at a Peterman party, her anti-"English Patient" outburst at the movie theater, her "thumbs" dance ... I miss Seinfeld!!!
the Action shows have pretty much died... what happened to Magnum P.I., Airwolf, Nightrider, MacGyver even Hercules was pretty good Seinfeld was awesome and is truely missed I am glad I'm not the only person that doesn't love Raymond
Mrs. JB - don't forget about when Elaine ate the wedding cake from WWII that Peterman had bought, kidnapped the barking dog and dumped him in the country (newman was the mastermind behind it all), and when she was the first person to eat her candy bars with a knife/fork.
Elaine was the only true "male" character on the show, in TV parlance at least. She was the only one that acted like the typical male character on other shows. She was also the only character that the others were truly afraid of. What an amazing show. I liked the post about "feeling dirty" if you miss the re-runs. I actually have a dinner date tonight that we moved back to accomodate the 6:30 Seinfeld.
i really miss looking forward to new seinfeld episodes.... i do not miss reruns! easily my all-time favorite show...easily.
I think networks prefer to not go with action shows unless they are sure the show will become a hit because those type of shows usually require a bigger budget than a sitcom or a drama. MacGuyver followed by Monday Night football was one of the best combos EVER! Maybe I can somehow turn my phone, computer monitor, and desk calender into something to eat...
Action shows available now: Buffy (although it is also a comedy, drama, soap opera, and any other genre) Angel (see Buffy but to a slighty lesser extent) Oz Sopranos JAG (to some extent, also has courtroom stuff) The Shield 24 plus many more If you are not watching Buffy and/or the Sopranos, I don't know why you would bother having a TV, because everything else is inferior. Heck, maybe you are just in it for the sports.
tonight's episode was one of the best ever! Keith Hernandez and Jerry's "date" the "second spitter" situation with Keith, Kramer, and Newman and of course... Vandelay Industries, you gotta answer your phone saying "Vandelay Industries"... you're in latex!!! this has got to be one of the top 10 episodes ever!
Funny thing is . . I NEVER WATCHED SEINFELD UNTIL THE RERUNS [Just like Law and Order .. i prefer the reruns] Rocket River I like Smallville though
Eh, Seinfeld was okay. It never really reached "Simpsons" status for me though. As far as action shows go, that new one for Fox (Fastlane) has some pretty kickass commercials.
One of my favorite Seinfeld's is when Jerry's buddy is running the Kenny Roger's Fried Chicken store and the light is radiating Kramer - so him and Jerry switch apartments and Jerry is turning into Kramer. The whole time Newman and Kramer are addicted to the chicken and they are keeping the store open. Also the frogger episode was awesome. Kramer was so funny! Doctor Martin Von Nostrand, H.E. Pennypacker, and Kramerica Industries. Kramer Quote's From the Kenny Roger's Chicken Episode This is from the Puerto Rican Day Parade Episode http://www.geocities.com/TelevisionCity/Network/2717/Scripts/Season9/ThePuertoRicanDay.txt Very Funny quote and a little bit more from Cosmo http://tomsquotes.amhosting.net/sitcom/seinfeld/kramer/kramer.htm
