I fully believe that the Rockets can and will keep winning. I believe they will still make the playoffs, but NO they will not win a championship. The worst part about this is not this season. The worst part about this is the significance of what it means to Yao's career and legacy. Yao is going to go the way of Bill Walton. He is too big, too heavy, and now too injury prone to take a beating every night as well as in the offseason with China. He is such a great human being and such a wonderful Role Model. Today is a sad day not only for us and the Houston Rockets, but for the sports world in general. This amazing talent, with an incredible work ethic who was the first in the gym and last to leave, who stayed true to his commitment every offseason when he could, has finally succumbed to the demands we put on him and he put on himself. Today signals the turning point in Yao's Career.
Feel like I've been punched in the gut but nothing we can do about it. Have to hope the team continues to play well, they are still my team regardless.
I cannot cope. First, Yao's season-ending injury. And now, the GARM is invading the Hangout. Kill. Me. Now.
Just as people were gradually starting to sit in the lower bowl too. D*** it. I'm not coping well at all here. Sitting in the dark thinking of glory days of ole Hakeem exposing David Robinson as a farce. Ahhhh the glory days.
WORST DAY OF MY LIFE!!!! On the way to work this morning get caught in a hail storm in my new car, and a rock chipped my windsheild. Then I get pulled over, and get a ticket, all within the same hour. NOW THIS!! ****!!! I just had a cigarette, and havent smoked in two years.......WORST DAY EVER!!!!!!!!!!
It's tough. I feel like leaving work early too. I am probably going to cope by playing a lot of NBA 2K8 with a 'healty' Yao leading the Rockets to the championship. Aside from that, I hope the Rockets continue to gel as a team learning Adelman's offense and the younger players continue to improve (Scola, Landry, Brooks and Gerald Green!). And am hopefully that that improvement will roll over to next season with a healty Yao and an increasingly better supporting cast. Really nothing to do now, but look forward.
You have got to be kidding me!!!! This can't be true...if so I'm about to yell out loud while in the library. NOT AGAIN! Freakin injury prone Rockets. Let's hope the new surrounding class TMAC has can help him carry this team.
Trying to be optimistic by thinking T-Mac will drop 30/7/7 like he did last year when Yao was out and win MVP while we make the playoffs and win the first round at least.
Looking forward to seeing how the young guys respond to more responsibility. Looking forward to baseball season.
