i'm disappointed we couldnt get deron ............ but optimistic because we wont have to face his ass in the playoffs AND that the west is thinning out.

and most importantly, i trust morey is doing his best.

you should see somewhat of a drop in ticket prices (atleast!!).........no playoffs+mediocrity= drop in attendance/drop in tcket price.

How do you know Morey didn't try to get Deron?

Are some of you message board members with Morey while he is discussing trades

Definitely feeling like there are no big guys left to go after ... Favors traded, Nene not available ... only to name a couple.

I think all the build up of Morey being such a brilliant 'poker' player over the past couple of years is going to lead us all to a huge disappointment when he does nothing because there really are no options left.

I'm still optimistic about getting something exciting for the Rockets. Deron Williams would have been awesome, but obviously not meant to be. That's fine. There's still some opportunities out there.

These trades do breathe some new life into the postseason run. There are 3 WC lotto teams still trying to get in -- PHO, MEM and HOU -- and 3 playoff teams that are in danger of falling out: Utah and Denver that just traded away their franchise players, and NO who have been sinking like a stone (and may yet make a season-killing trade).

I'm hoping the Suns finally move Nash and the Grizz move one of their rotation players. That plus the rockets making a move for Wallace who seems easily attainable would be great because:

    a) we're rockets fans and we want to see our team win and
    b) being on the big stage of the playoffs increases the value of our players

I dont understand why everyone is upset. We were never interested in making a move to trade anyone. You can post all this stuff about this and that, but come tomorrow at trade deadline we will have the same team tomorrow that we have for the cavs game tonight.

Get over it and deal with it the Rockets will never be contenders again.

Reports are apparently saying Zach Randolph could be heading to Orlando.

Morey's been talking about trying to make a run at the playoffs, and now things are opening up for the Rockets to actually pull that off.

I think you can legitimately throw the "rebuilding" idea right out the window now.

Rockets could not get any of these good players and became non-factor.

i am really pissed off when ppl kept bringing up nene. what's point do we want him? in the current stage, rox is now where near denver of 2007-10.

do ppl want rox to win big? then forget about nene. nene with help of melo and chauncy can't push denver to a title in previous years. why do you think he will push rox to a title?

well lets see- we got one over on the Knicks, didn't we? So now they have 2 star players, and we have jordan hill, some small guys who play hard, draft picks and other various assets. Life is great.

Even if we make a trade before the deadline, it won't be a splash, and it won't change the complexion of this franchise. We have a great front office that makes smart moves at the right price. Unfortunately, you have to overpay to get a big-time player- something that this team doesn't want to do.

I think they'd be willing to do that if the RIGHT player came along and WANTED to be here. (talking about your big-time player comment)

Wait, when did the Rockets decide not to pay a big-time player and missed out on them? Be specific.

We can still trade for Nene if we are confident to unload him later for picks.

but yeah, Nene playing for the Rockets will be another insurance to the mediocre hell.

Rockets could have offered whatever the hell they wanted.

There's no way the Jazz were sending him to a Western Conference team if they can get Devin Harris, Derrick Favors, and 2 first round picks.

You don't have to overpay to get a bigtime player. DWill, DWade, LeBron, DH, Durant, Paul, KG, Kobe, Pau, those guys aren't overpaid. Morey actually says that those guys are underpaid and they give the most bang for the buck.

Your mistake is in thinking that guys like Amare and Anthony are bigtime players.

Are you kidding? Or just smoking a little bit too much crack?

Why in the world would Utah take that package over one and potentially two lottery picks plus the 2nd overall pick in the previous draft? EDIT: AND DEVIN HARRIS.

No, we never had a shot at Deron. Snap back into reality.

I think he meant in terms of trades, not salary. Still doesn't change the fact that other teams have to want your assets to make the trade, and the player has to want your city to stay there.
